Fantastic hotel, central and easy access... the only one but we could not use the wellness space because it was full booked, they could give priority to the hotel guests, for the rest, all right

NH Mechelen has a good location and friendly staff. Beds are decent and breakfast is OK. BUT: (1) While certain parts of the hotel (e.g. reception and breakfast room) are somewhat renovated, other require urgent renovation and are far below the NH Hotels standard I'm used to (please refer to the pictures of room 506 attached), (2) A pungent sewage smell is present throughout the hotel, (3) The parking is limted to cars ＜ 165 cm (so SUV's cannot use it), (4) The airco is very, very old, makes a huge noise and does not work adequately, (5) And all this for 186 €/ night (breakfast included), which is far too expensive for the poor quality offered. See pictures attached: (1) Curtains which could not be closed (30- 40 cm), (2) Curtains with a lot of holes, (3) Dead insects on the the window, curtain and at the coffee machine, (4) and (5) Furniture with all over scratches, (6) A new door lock was installed but the remains of the previous system were not removed.

Got a corner room on 1+ floor. It was beautiful. Breakfast was all anyone could dream of. Bring a sleep mask to avoid light in the morning. Everything was clean. The bad was good, not too hard. I loved the high ceiling. The pictures will convince you.

On booking.com extra comment was added, honeymoon trip. No acknowledgement was received from the hotel regarding this. Emails we received was over and over again to upgrade the room and extra services. Little acknowledgement of congratulations and thank you for choosing us was enough as customer service. Easy fast check in. Room location was well explained. The room itself was very nice, size wise and clean. slippers, bath rope and extras were foreseen. Also there was a little welcome card with a cookie for the honeymoon. Thank you.

Set in a prime location of Mechelen, Hotel Brouwerij Het Anker puts everything the city has to offer just outside your doorstep. The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Facilities like valet parking, business center, restaurant, bar are readily available for you to enjoy. Some of the well-appointed guestrooms feature desk, telephone, television, coffee/tea maker. The hotel offers various recreational opportunities. Hotel Brouwerij Het Anker is an excellent choice from which to explore Mechelen or to simply relax and rejuvenate.

Hotel in a lovely location but was not until booking confirmed that we were informed that that were no reception staff and we would have to pick up the keys from another hotel We had breakfast one day and had an issue sorting payment, someone from the partnership hotel had to come and sort, and although breakfast was OK, you can get a much nicer breakfast for a similar price elsewhere There was no kettle/cups/tea/coffee in the room The room was just about warm enough Had no pillows and that took a while to sort

The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. I take you a point in the cleaning assessment for using a moquette, not because it was dirt or much less, cleaning is deserved a 5 too, but I know it is vital for people with allergies and other impediments with it. I was served by a guy at the front desk / reception and he was friendly and willing to help which made the stay pleasant. Location is about 5-10mins walk to the city centre and there is a convenience store a few minutes away from the hotel. Clean and spacious room and the toilet - there was air-conditioning which is a plus point especially during the summer season. I would pick this hotel again when I am back at Mechelen and Brussels in the future.
