I stayed from 11/1 and had a reservation until today, 15/1. Unfortunately, I found a rat walking around in the kitchen and then in the bedroom (number 2) going through our belongings. This is unacceptable and you cannot let this happen. I'm terrified of rats and I had an anxiety attack because of it, I had to leave the hotel at around 11pm to find a clean room that didn't have these animals. After walking around the city and finding a room, I only managed to take some medicine. Maybe for some people this type of animal is normal and harmless, but I really panic and would never be able to sleep in a place where there are rats. Only later did I discover that he had been there for a few days and that made me panic. Unfortunately you made my last night in Melbourne horrible, I will never forget it.

Located right outside the free tram zone, the staff is really nice and make you feel at home right away, they have lots of suggestions for things to do in&around Melbourne, the kitchen and showers are big enough and really neat & clean. Had an amazing amazing stay, 10/10 would recommend staying in this hostel.

Awesome place to stay in Melbourne, location is good, people who works in are amazing.. really kind, always welcoming. The mansion offering a good level of services, in my opinion one of the best value for money in the city. I’ll definitely come back one day ✌️😎

The hostel was clean and nice. Staff were veryvery helpful and kind. They gave tips and showed all things in the hostel. The room were nice and clean also. Even it was shared room, it felt that there was some pricate because of curtains on the bed. Absolutely, one of the best hostel in my trip.

really great crew at the mansion, very welcoming and nice and fun. tram stations are literally in both corners of the block, cbd is walks away, it's clean and comfy, there's a quiet corner to sit, a place to do your work, a tv room, just has everything you'll need. and the kitchen! kitchen's great.

Very lovely hostel with super friendly staff! Kitchen and rooms are clean and the beds have little curtains for some privacy. Next to the hostel there's a Café and Bar. All in all the hostel is very good located and you can catch the free tram to CBD at parliament station. Will definitely come back in the future 👍

Amazing place to visit, the history surrounded by the beautiful gardens and the best zoo in Australia. We stayed to do the zoo tour and it was amazing to see the animals from a little walk from the Mansion.

Great city location and close to china town for food. Good service by friendly staff and very welcoming. The hostel was nice and very clean. For a large hostel there was plenty of space and it never felt crowded. highly recommend
