Castello di Gabbiano

Our group had a tour of the wine cellar and then experienced wine tasting with a delicious Tuscany lunch.The grounds are beautiful and the history surrounding this castle is interesting. The surrounding areas have some of the most breathtaking views of vineyards. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining afternoon.

Amazing hotel! The pool area and property on the wine yard is incredible and calm, the staff is great! There is nothing bad to say about this hotel...or maybe that we had a small lizard in our room, but that is nothing the hotel can do much about, since there are a lot of lizards in the nature in Tuscany. The hotel serve coffee and cookies each afternoon, which is included in the room price, this is a nice extra! The breakfast is also great. The restaurant (Il Cavaliere) is really nice, as well as the staff!

Living theTuscan dream…exclusive but friendly andhospitable environment. All out helpful and caring manager Barbara. Amazing wines are made here,just as goos as in the more reputable wineries in Chianti. Visit Simone in the wineshop at the castle and let him lead you through the assortment of Sangiovese Classico as well as great roses and Supertuscans. When in Chianti you want to drive around and see different sights but whenyou see the pool you do not want to go anywhere else ! You can have a massage in your room or just hang around in the garden. There are wine fridges where you just check out a bottle and sign for it on a list. The restaurant Il Cavalieri on the grounds is something else and the team who run it so friendly and welcoming. If they keep ut what they are doing the Guide Rouge soon will get their eyes up for them!

Our 4th time staying here but our first in the castle itself as we previously stayed with our daughters in the apartments .We love this place for it's beauty and serenity.It never feels crowded ,the setting is spectacular and just a wonderful way to chill out .The staff are lovely ,there is an honesty bar at the pool ,Teas /coffees /pastries are laid out in the main hall every day at 4pm .The breakfast has everything I ever want . A car is a must I feel to get around (hire an automatic )but if you go sightseeing ,do your research on parking and restricted zones in towns and cities and enjoy all this wonderful region has to offer

Upon arrival in our room we were greeted with a lovely note and bottle of wine. The hotel had been tastefully decorated whilst keeping its authentic features. The grounds of the castle are stunning, with beautiful flowers and a stand out pool area - although it wasn’t heated so we didn’t get chance to use it due to a bad spell of weather. The breakfast was basic but with enough to satisfy most tastes. The restaurant that is located within the grounds was brilliant, with a great menu choice. We also did the wine tasting at the wine shop, we didn’t pre book but the sommelier was super helpful and shared an insightful castle and vineyard history summary - we also really loved the wine! Honest bar system was great and super reasonable.

Outstanding property with so much beauty and history! The wine tasting was fantastic!! This is a “ ONE OF A KIND” travel experience. Eat here, taste wine here or stay here…. But somehow, get here!! You will enjoy!!!

We stayed at Castello Gabbiano during and after Marc Berarducci’s wonderful Tasting Tuscany tour and our stay was outstanding This 12th century castle turned modern hotel sits in the picturesque hills of Tuscany. The views from the castle grounds, to include a gorgeous luxury pool were breathtaking. The location is also ideal as it is fairly close to several beautiful towns to include Greve in Chianti, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and Colle di Val d’ Esla (60 minutes or less by car). The rooms and common areas of the hotel were clean, comfortable, and accommodating. Daily breakfasts were always excellent and their nearby restaurant (walking distance) is Michelin star worthy. Lastly, the staff, led by Barbara, were fantastic. Everyone was friendly, professional and did everything in their power to make us feel welcome. We will definitely return and highly recommend Castello Gabbiano to anyone looking for a place that is lovely, relaxing, and ideally located.

We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary with a group of friends & Castello di Gabbiano was quite simply the perfect venue. The setting is like something out of a movie, the restaurant was just incredible, the wine tour & tasting was superb and the staff were out of of this world. Special mentions must go to Barbara & Raisa who are Tuscan Wonder Women as they were so helpful & always greet you with biggest, warmest smile. One of the best weekends ever & our friends are already planning to return very soon with their families :-)

We had a great stay at Castello di Gabbiano. The scenery is so beautiful and the castle is full of atmosphere and well-renovated. The pool is large and has an amazing view. The apartment was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of good restaurants and trails for hiking and biking in the area. We also enjoyed the wine tasting at the castle. I can warmly recommend this place to everyone!
