CASA SAUTO La Princesa is undeniably a beautiful property. The restoration has been carried out with a lot of taste and respect for the character of the building, creating a charming atmosphere full of colonial elegance. The location near the Zócalo is also very convenient for exploring the city, although guests should be aware that this naturally comes with quite a bit of street noise — something we accepted when booking such a central location. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by a clear lack of maintenance and housekeeping. During our four-night stay, there was no cleaning service at all, not even a simple towel change, which is below what one would reasonably expect at this level of accommodation. More problematic was the bathroom drainage. The shower itself was not limited by hot water capacity, but by the fact that the basin would quickly fill and overflow because the pipes appeared to be almost completely blocked. After about five minutes of showering, it took nearly twenty minutes for the water to drain away. We reported the issue to staff during our stay, but unfortunately nothing was done. With proper maintenance and basic housekeeping standards, this place could truly be excellent. As it stands, the beauty of the property is overshadowed by operational shortcomings.

Casa Sauto was a wonderful place to stay! The building itself is absolutely stunning, and the location could not be better. The apartment we stayed in was spacious. The beds are a little too firm, and there isn't any air conditioning. We went in October though, so it wasn't bad. They also have fans in every room, so the lack of air conditioning was never a problem for us. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City!
