The Residences on Ocean Drive by Roami

Miami Beach has a character all its own, it was very walkable and friendly, noisy too with live music and many bars and restaurants, it had a very European feel to it and the architecture is amazing. The beach is vast and the choices of food enormous. Great for souvenirs too

The hotel has a great location in the middle of everything on Ocean Drive. The kitchen is very good equipped. Other than that, and the low price, this is not a hotel we would like to see again. The distinctive smell of mold was the first thing that we noticed when we arrived. The floor was all soft underneath the wooden planks. On day two the floor under the AC unit were all wet. The leaking from this has probably been a problem for quite a long time. We missed daily cleaning during the 10 nights. No one came to either take the garbage or clean at all. This was not mentioned in the hotels advertisement before we booked. We had a set of extra bed-linen so we could change ourselves. Same with the towels. The bed was not comfortable. It had only one mattress, and it was not comfortable. On the bed-head the fabric had stains, and from my imagination this could remind of blood. There was really no isolation between the rooms, and we heard our neighbors talking, coughing and laughter, even though it was just normal conversations. The manager Ezra was at the frontier desk from 11-19 Thursday til Monday. He was very helpful, understanding and service-minded. We told him all about the above, and he took care of the leaking from the AC ASAP.
