There are many restaurants, bars, shopping centers and entertainment venues in the city which is lively both day and night. Miami's climate is warm and humid, with an average temperature of around 23°C, and the weather is relatively stable year-round. Every year from mid-late November to the next April is the best travel season, when the sun is shining, the rain is less, and it is hotter. Rainfall is often experienced throughout the period of June to November. August through October is hurricane season, so it may be best to check whether forecasts before planning your trip.

    Miami is a holiday resort city with a variety of accommodation types and grades, ranging from high-end resort hotels, mid-range chain hotels and apartment-style hotels. Downtown Miami and Miami Beach are the most popular accommodation areas. The city's transportation is convenient. Attractions, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues are concentrated in the same areas which makes it easy to get from one place to the next. The city is busy, and the stretching coastline makes it a top choice for vacations, though the price of resort hotels in Miami with private beaches is relatively high. Miami International Airport is about a 20-minute drive from the city center. South Miami has a comfortable and quiet environment, and can travel along Route 1 to this area. North Miami is home to many diverse communities and is a good area for locating budget motels.
