Cottages El Portal

This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had. The property advertises a reception available from 8am to 8pm, but this is simply not true. Nobody answers the phone, and there is absolutely no assistance if something goes wrong. When we arrived, we could not access the property and tried calling repeatedly for help. No one answered the phone. We were left outside for nearly four hours with no support at all. Eventually another guest had to help us because the host was completely unreachable. This place operates like an abandoned self-service cottage rather than a hotel or guesthouse. IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, YOU ARE COMPLETELY ON YOUR OWN !!! Even at checkout the lock box would not open, and again there was no one to contact. We had no choice but to leave the keys inside the room. Lack of communication, lack of responsibility, and zero reception nor customer care. I strongly recommend avoiding this property unless you are comfortable with no staff, no assistance, and no accountability.

Perfectly matches pictures. Very clean and comfortable. Good area for good and easy food. Not in a busy area, it’s cutely tucked away. Only downside was the TV was very small and slow, but if you’re not planning on watching TV much, it’s a great spot!

Great quiet location with everything you want to be 10-15 minute drive away ...beaches, South Beach. Nice apartment with everything you need for a trip of 3-7 days

I liked it. For the price/location it is a great deal. I enjoyed it.

Unique, clean, and quiet. Large living space with a full kitchen. Within walking distance of cool, bohemian restaurants and shops. It’s an older Florida property - well maintained, but real deal old Miami, (blocks away from an ancient Tequesta burial mound), so like a little rust here and there but nothing dirty or sticky. Nothing like a high end hotel, but I would definitely stay there again.

Was perfect for our weekend stay. Not too far from downtown Miami, grocery stores are about a 5 minutes drive, located in a cute neighborhood. Would highly recommend.

Love the location within a safe residential neighborhood. It was nice and quiet for a nice getaway. The room was clean and provided the necessary household essentials.
