The hotel occupies three floors above the JW Marriott, with most amenities located within the JW itself. Check-in and arrival were smooth and efficient. The room featured a lot of chrome, lacquer, and leather finishes. It was spacious but felt a bit outdated. Power outlets were limited. The bed was comfortable, but the sheets and towels were sub par. Only one caffeinated coffee pod was provided! The so-called “enhanced” internet service was slow. The video camera on door does not work. The tablet's firmware needs to be updated and had old info on it. On the plus side, there was ample storage space. The bathroom was very large. On arriving, the bathroom TV was on and couldn’t be turned off—we had to call maintenance to replace the remote battery. The shower had issues - the handheld option didn’t work at all. I didn’t try the jacuzzi tub. There was no accessible outlet for a hair dryer in the bathroom, and the only light switch was located just outside the door. The pool area was overcrowded in afternoon. Went in AM and there is availability. Lounge chairs are stained and there was a shortage of towels in late AM. As Bonvoy Elite members, we received a late checkout, two complimentary coffees, and 30 minutes of activity center access. The concierge lounge breakfast was adequate with excellent coffee. The room offered beautiful views. For a 1-2 night business trip, this hotel would be sufficient. The happy hour at restaurant near lobby is really good!

Overall a good property but it felt like the forgotten step-child of the larger JW in which the hotel occupies a few floors. The advantages of being in the JW is that you get access to the gym and, with Bonvoy status, the lounge which are both excellent. The hotel also provides $10 each day for food and beverages at the cafe. The room was neat and spacious. The layout was strange and inconvenient with the bathroom being off on its own. That may have been just the suite layout. It was also August in Miami so hot and humid but the AC was having trouble keeping up. Also, no slippers! Location is close to many Miami attractions and shopping.
