Miami International Airport Hotel

Miami|0.09km from Miami International Airport
The hotel couldn't be any closer or more convenient to the terminals and for our early am check in. We had access to the entire terminal's shops and restaurants. We walked around looking at our gate areas, so we knew where we needed to go. Check in was easy however, they didn't mention the restaurant on the 7th floor so instead, we ended up paying over $100 at a chain restaurant with a burger/sandwich menu. The price point is extremely high for what you get - for $250 plus a night I'd expect a refrigerator or a microwave, some wash cloths, more than one regular coffee packet and some soap, however, once we asked twice, we received these items fairly quickly. The rooms are dated, not doubt, but the king bed was big and comfy. I was rather pleased with the bright lighting and expandable makeup mirror in the bathroom. Nice to see what you really look like rather than looking in a dim mirror for once which is what you get now at higher end facilities. The window was filthy so there was no looking out the window-to be fair I doubt its easy to clean when jets are constantly flying over your head. The carpet needs to be replaced, there really was very little left of it in the room. Hallway carpet dated but clean. The TV/cable didn't work due to provider changes occurring within the county and the airport is a county building (which is was what we were told when we asked how to use the TV.) We were able to use wireless to stream TV on the iPad - it would have nice if they mentioned that as well so we weren't fighting about how to work the remote. There are really no amenities, and I would say this is comparable to an older but clean motel. However, it took 28 minutes total in the morning to check in, check our bags, get through security and be seated at the gate. Long story short, we would stay there again for an early am flight if we could get a cheaper price.

The room is good, clean, has a parking lot, 18 knives a day. There is coffee in the lobby, hot water, and hot water is convenient. The bath water is very good, I don’t know why the washing water is very small, I am tired by plane, I am too lazy to change the room.

Had a horrible experience a couple of blocks away at some trashy place… But not only was this hotel the exact opposite of that, but they ACTUALLY got me in the vacation mood right back again. Luis the manager was nothing but a knowledgeable young man of the area and his hospitality is what got me to give this a shot. 10/10

The hotel itself is very good, there is a literary fan, although there is an airport passing over the head, but the window is still very quiet, every half hour there is shuttle between the airport subway station hotel, 24 hours without stopping, take a few minutes to have the subway and The bus is very convenient. The only bad thing is that there is no food around. The hotel’s restaurants, taxes and tips are extremely high.

Stayed here on an over night lay over with my family of four (two adults, two older teens). After a delayed arrival at around 7:30pm, all we wanted to do was get to our hotel. Waited for 10 minutes no shuttle. Called the hotel, told them where we were standing and was instructed to move to pick up station 7 and shuttle would be on the way. 20 minutes later. No shuttle. Called again and same front desk employee told me ”I don't know what to tell you, he's on the way should be there in less than 10 minutes. Just as we were about to give up and take a cab, along came the shuttle. Driver was nice, I”m guessing busy doing something else when we needed him to pick us up. Here is your pro tip: 1: Don't assume the shuttle runs non stop. It doesn't. 2: Call the hotel and make sure its on the way. 3. If you have an early AM flight, don't stay here unless you want to UBER or Cab to the airport. The shuttle does not start running to the airport until 7AM. Our flight left at 7:30, so a 12 dollar UBER it was. The rest of our experience was fine. This is nice property. Had the two bedroom unit and had great space for our family. Used the washer and dryer on second floor (bring your quarters 1.75 per wash, 1.00 per dry). They have a full service bar that stays open until 9pm. Until they improve their Airport shuttle service (remember, they are an AIRPORT HOTEL). I would stay someplace else.

After departing from our cruise, we arrived early (10 am) of our check-in time. We had booked the room through Chase Ultimate Rewards using points and received confirmation from Chase. I am also a Gold Elite Bonvoy member. When we arrived, our reservation was not in the system. After going back and forth with management, the manager, Karen, basically told us (at 3pm) that they would not be able to accommodate us that night as they were overbooked and had no rooms available. ”Chase” had not paid the hotel for the room, so we do not have a reservation in the system. I was asked to contact chase to get the hotel a virtual credit card to keep my reservation. We talked to Chase and they had to work with the hotel directly. According to the Chase Rep, Chase had to pay for a new booking and pay extra fees for us to stay that evening, so the hotel did have availability. We eventually checked in at 4pm. Mind you we are a family traveling with a 6 and 2 yo, at risk of not having a place to stay. We were not the only guests in that position, there were at minimum four other groups with their 3rd party reservations not being recognized. I believe they have a system error that they refuse to recognize. Or maybe it's on purpose to have customers book a lower cost room to end up charging the booking company more money for the reservation. Either way it was a poor experience all around. This was my first time experiencing this with travel to six continents and 25+ countries. The hotel itself was ok. The pros were complimentary breakfast, free airport shuttle, and large lobby which we regrettably had to wait at for 6+ hours. The cons were check-in process, dirty room floor, and a sticky deadbolt that caused us to be stuck in our room until maintenance was able to let us out. The location is only convenient for the airport, no where to eat at or walk to nearby. Kind of shady area with run down business around.
