The English at the front desk is not particularly good. The buffet dinner is more cost-effective than the surrounding Italian restaurants. The daughter is 15 years old and counts as a child. In the hotel you can see the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel pool is very iced. It is recommended to put some towels next to the hotel. The night view around the hotel is beautiful, and there is a very meaningful museum.

I have to admit, I had a fabulous time here at the hotel. We went with several family’s and enjoyed the hustle and bustle. The entertainment team are particularly friendly and attempt to include all nationalities in all the activities. The cleaning team made an amazing job of regularly cleaning and making the bedrooms each day. They forgot to replace our towels, but we alerted reception on the way to dinner and when we returned to our room the towels had been replaced. I have read some reviews on here about a few members of staff being rude or grumpy, and on a few occasions at breakfast and the pool bar I did see this behaviour. However when the staff got to know us and we got over the language barrier they couldn’t do enough to help. Raul was laughing and joking by the end of the week and he made some amazing cocktails. I suppose what I’m saying is that people demand customer service but don’t show the respect that’s occasionally needed. If your rude to staff .. don’t expect the red carpet treatment. The hotel is looking a little aged, but view and location is amazing, close to Mijas and a short taxi ride/ bus to the beach. The Buffett food got a little repetitive but was cooked well and they had plenty of options for all ages. Thanks for a great stay .. see you again one day …

Fantastic holiday, 3rd time here. The staff are so welcoming and attentive to all guests. The whole complex is kept very clean. The on site restaurant is very good as well. You are within a 7 euro taxi ride to La Cala or Fuengirolla if you want to go shopping. There is great entertainment on poolside every day with bingo etc and at the onsite restaurant 4 nights a week they have live singers who are very good.

This was such an easy trip. Out the airport, a 3 minute walk to the train station and a 25 minute train ride straight to Torreblanca station and the hotel is right there. It's a 3-4 minute walk from station right into hotel reception. There is a very short incline just before you get into hotel. Arrival was great as the staff in this hotel are always so friendly and helpful. This extends to everywhere, restaurant staff are lovely, cleaning staff are lovely, bar staff etc, everyone is so nice. I had room 406 with a spectacular sea view and looking directly onto the beautifully manicured large garden area with sunbeds well distanced from each other and positioned on the lawns. It's peacefulness personified to just lie down there and read a book. So quiet. There is a large(ish) pool down at the bottom of the gardens with a more livelier pool up above, and closer to the hotel. This tends to attract families, although it's never been really busy anytime I have stayed. I do like the small pool bar there and it's lovely to sit outside of it and just watch the families in the pool. It also has a small much shaded area if you wanted to get out the sun for a while. Amenities are a short walk away, down a hill, and about 5 minutes walk. For the less able-bodied people, it is a bit of a steep climb back up to the hotel. It's doable, but you may just need to stop and rest. Until 7pm, you can get into the hotel through a side-gate half-way up the hill by using your room card for entry. This saves going up that last part of the hill which is the steepest. What I loved most is being able to walk out the hotel straight into the train station and head to Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Arroyo de la Miel, Plaza Mayor (huge shopping area) and finally back to the airport. No need to buy a ticket as just tap your bank card onto the Renfe big red dots at every station and that's you. Just don't forget to tap that dot again when you get to your destination station. All-in-all, a great holiday (always) and I have already booked for my next trip back there.

The hotel is really nice very big, the food was buffet style but plenty of choice... Our room was sufficient clean but view was of a tall building at the back that was being renovated which was horrible... Ask for a room looking over the pool and gardens. Couldn't fault the prices in the bar... The entertainment was aimed totally at Spanish people they took over the dance floor every night... The pool was very disappointing as was open for two days then the Manager took the decision to close it ... We were shocked as the weather was beautiful. we were told swim in doors ... l think he missed the point as l have to swim indoors all the year around that's why l save up and go to Spain...he was obnoxious....

Just returned from el pourto ,after reading some bad reports I was apprehensive about going as we had booked 2 weeks holiday.we are 2 ladies in our 60s we are friends. It is not as bad as people make out but it is not a holiday hotel it is more transient for people wanting to visit the area and have somewhere to lay their head .there is no appreciation that you have spent a lot of money to stay in their hotel.reception staff ok but they prefer Spanish residents , bar staff in reception area are so rude twice I tried to get served and they just carried on talking to each other so I walked away, no customer service skills at all.restaurant staff are very reserved only the odd one say hello..the best staff are the chamber maids they always speak and are very helpful..the rooms are kept spotless.we was never woke up early.the bathrooms are very small and not private at all.because we are friends one of us kept going out to give the other person privacy for the toilet, Something needs to be done re pool bar it is our pool to use but you can only drink and eat anything bought up there.but it is expensive and some budgets won't stretch to using the bar.again some staff speak and make you feel welcome.breakfast good but evening meal needs looking at as it is repetative and uninviting unless you love sweet things.please be aware it is not mobile friendly with restaurant being up on the first floor of a different block so your down in one lift and back up in another .as the lifts are not very reliable it can take a while to get to the restaurant. I wouldn't personally go back but it is central and very clean.maybe because I served all my career in customer service I expect to be looked after as I would have served residents.maybe they should have a mystery resident to report back to management re the failings of staff.after all we are the people who keep the money coming in and keep the Spanish economy going.please dont worry if you have booked to go as it is not to bad....

I'm so happy I finally found a place that I can say I've really enjoyed my time in.Staff who really know what it's all about-HOSPITALITY. Great welcome on my arrival,very comprehensive explanations as to where everything was and how to access things.I know people have complained about depositS for this that and the other-GET OVER IT.Ive stayed in higher end hotel who do the same. Eva ,Arthur and Fernando at Reception where excellent throughout my visit.I ate quite a bit at the hotel and I found the food good and the pleasantness and efficiency of all staff without exception to be wonderful. I asked for a room change on day two,as there was quite a loud group next to my original room and it was sorted immediately. The spa has all you could want also,and again a very pleasant guy takes care of things there. Finally,the room,again its got all you need.I had beautiful sea view,lovely dark wood floors,great shower and amenities aswell as wonderful Housekeeping. This hotel is mainly geared for LGBTQ client and as a member of that community I can recommend this hotel to you-Its great. Well done to everyone involved I'm making my first trip to Torremolinos so memorable and wonderful. John P Murphy xx

This was our second holiday at Stella Maris. The Apartments had been refurbished and were like new, a very comfy sofa. We had a one bedroom apartment with a balcony to the side and to the sea, the beds are really comfortable giving us good sleep. The apartment was cleaned 5 days in the week. The kitchen was good, enough utensils, a two ring cooking and a fridge . The location, on the Promenade, is excellent.We enjoyed our holiday and will recommend to our friends,

Today is 28 September 2022 and my daughter Jill's memory on Facebook was of us sitting in the Lomond Lounge at Glasgow Airport before our flight on 28 September 2019, looking forward to another enjoyable holiday at Hotel IPV Palace & Spa. Little did we know that the dreaded COVID pandemic was on the horizon and would almost bring the world to a stop. I have worked from home since 17 March 2020 and have never been on a bus or a train since then never mind an aeroplane. Looking at the memory prompted me to look at my previous reviews and I found that I did not submit a review for that visit. I know it is a bit late in the day however I want the people who read reviews before deciding on their destination to know that this hotel is first class in every way. Perfect location with unbeatable sea view, comfortable beds, scrupulously clean, powerful shower with constant hot water, good food and most important of all the wonderful, friendly, efficient staff. Our Jet2 Holiday was stress free throughout the flight and we were quickly through customs and luggage carousel at Malaga. The transfer to the hotel was pleasant and the driver wheeled my cases up to the entrance. I hesitated, looked around and felt I was back to my happy place. Walking through reception, smiles were coming in our direction before we reached the desk. Warm welcome as we checked in, asked for a kettle which was delivered to the room shortly afterwards. We couldn’t resist one of the delicious fruity boiled sweets which always sit in a bowl on the desk. Once again, we were on the top floor of the Cesares building. Cases discarded, balcony door opened, elbows on the balcony and taking in the panoramic sea view with the ever present sound of the waves … the most relaxing sound in the world. Housekeeping do a brilliant job, the room was pristine and the bathroom gleaming. Toiletries etc. available in case there was something we had forgotten to pack. Wherever we went in the hotel from Beach Bar, Dona Lola Restaurant, Lobby Bar and Shop we caught up with people we have got to know over the years. They all gave us a lovely welcome and hugs all round. Now most of the people reading this will want to know about the restaurant and quality of food. The Dona Lola Restaurant is spacious and all the tables are covered with lovely crisp fresh tablecloths with proper napkins. Weather permitting; we always opt to eat outside on the terrace, part of which is covered. Their breakfasts make a great start to the day. You can choose a cooked breakfast accompanied by eggs any which way you like … omelette, poached, boiled, scrambled (sorry no Cadbury’s chocolate ones). The continental breakfast is also delicious with a good choice of meats, cheeses, etc. Cava is available and with the fresh fruit juices you can easily mix yourself a Bucks Fizz or Bellini.
