Torricelli Milano House

This rustic apartment is one of the best example of the most characteristic Milan’s living solutions, the “casa di ringhiera” (tenement with communal balconies, overlooking the inner courtyards). Over the past century, this type of houses has represented the traditional living solution of the families whose existence depended on the fluvial economy, developed thanks to the presence of Navigli, onto which the apartment overlooks.

The apartment, that with its wooden interiors will convey you a sensation of warm hospitality, is furnished with a vintage taste for rough materials. With the exception of the kitchen, renewed in 2015, in which there are a long cooktop, oven, dishwasher and all the useful kitchenware.

The spacious master bedroom has a refined four-poster bed and a writing desk.

The interiors are characterised by red brick walls and wooden furnishing: like the chairs, the shelves, the armchairs in the living room, and the sofa bed. All these elements seem to invite guests to rest and relax in front of the windows overlooking the canal.

The bathroom, like the kitchen, is of modern taste: the bathroom fixtures and the shower box, with double water jet, are new and conform with the most recent standards.

The Neighborhood

The apartment is situated in the heart of Navigli district, which is famous for the large offer of restaurants, night spots and entertainment places.

Here, we recommend to have at least one beer at Frizzi e Lazzi, a pub at only 200 meters from the building that is set in the courtyard of one “casa di ringhiera”. Still talking of beer, we suggest also the Bella Alliance, at the end of Via Evangelista Torricelli, and the smallest Tipota, at n° 32 of Via Francesco Brioschi, which are two pubs specialized in craft beers where it is easy to socialize.

For those keen in sports, we suggest the Baravalle Park, with a decent basketball playground and several areas only for dogs.
