The staff here are friendly and nothing seems an effort for them, as they make you feel welcome throughout your stay. I was down in Bournemouth for a conference and had the Bon Jovi room. The room is clean, warm, with a good quality carpet and bedding to match. The breakfast is plentiful and of good quality. I shall be back soon, and hopefully ”Livin' on a Prayer” if I bag the Gregg Wallace room next time.

When you spend multiple thousands of pounds on your wedding day, you would expect hotel staff to do their upmost to make the day as special as possible. What you do not expect is kitchen staff to completely ignore the list of severe allergies that has been given to them, and then once they have handed out allergen filled food to those affected become rude and defensive to those affected, the bride and groom and family members. The night before my now wife and her bridesmaids had a room booked for all to stay in, when they arrived the room was too small for them all, was so dirty that one bridesmaid hung her dress and it immediately got marked. They were moved to a different room and told there would be no charge. They then ordered room service, which was overpriced and the portion sizes were abysmal. The mistakes made by kitchen staff led my brother (the best man) to a state of near anaphylaxis, meaning he was stuck in a room vomiting and shivering in bed, struggling to catch his breath for the rest of the day. While me and other family members were trying to find out what my brother had consumed to lead to this reaction one member of staff (Mark) confronting my brother who was at the time, hunched over and vomiting, and telling him what was happening was not the fault of the hotel, and there was no chance of contamination in the kitchen. While Mark was trying to cover the hotels arse to the person that they had, for all intents and purposes, poisoned. The ”food and beverage manager” (George) was telling concerned family members and wedding guests that he could not disclose what had been given to my brother (effectively breaking Natasha's law), despite us explaining to him that if we had to rush to the hospital they would need to know what had been consumed. He also told me and my new wife that we had signed disclaimers stating it was not the fault of the hotel if this kind of incident occurred. Eventually, I managed to convince him to bring me the packaging of the Ice Cream my brother had consumed, although he confidently declared it was ”dairy free” the label read dairy ice cream, once I pointed this out he exclaimed ”oh sh1t” and hid the ice cream lid behind his back telling me and other family members ”no proof, no proof”. We still have video evidence of this section occurring, if we require it. And while my sister was trying to explain we needed the ”proof” for if my brother had to go to the hospital, Mark walked over to us at which point George held up a hand and told us to ”shush”. Mark then told George to let us take a photo, which he did, and we did. At which point we were offered a small amount of money behind the bar as a ”good will gesture”, to which I had replied that at a minimum the goodwill gesture would need to be an open bar. For the rest of the wedding George was still continuing to work despite our requests to remove him from our event due to his rudeness to our guests. Our coach holiday at the Royal Bath in Bournemouth was terrific value for money. The location is excellent with the beach, Bournemouth gardens, and the Pavilion theatre all minutes away on foot. Our rooms were spacious and appeared to have been recently refurbished. There is free wifi in the common areas and kettle and cups, ironing facilities and a fan are provided in the rooms. The common areas are comfortable and the food is self service. We found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The hotel is an old lady and not without it's flaws so if you are used to luxury then you may wish to pay extra money elsewhere for your indulgence. We were looking for a comfortable hotel in a great location and were very happy with our stay at the Royal Bath.

I bought a groupon deal for this hotel, which came with a 2 course meal and 25 mins Spa treatment for my anniversary, I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times before and enjoyed my stay, but this time was not great, I didn't get my treatment because they were fully booked. When I went for my meal, I asked for a wine menu, then the lady took r food order, they were not short staffed and not many guests eating, my first course come out and me and my husband still didn't have drinks or the wine menu, food was good but service was bad.

Stayed 3 nights this hotel is dated the room we had definitely needed a lot of redecorating. But in saying that it seemed clean and was comfortable although they only had very firm pillows. I guess I could of asked for softer but I didn’t. Entertainment was provided an Irish music weekend which we didn’t attend but the hotel was full of guests who did. It sounded ok from our room, but not enough to disturb sleep. Now the food, we ate the dinner on our first night and although I found it ok my other is a vegetarian and the choice was only veg curry which didn’t look that appealing. However for me plenty of food, not the greatest but for a budget hotel they know their customer base and was tasty. A Buffett is provided which included salad, meat and fish. A little pricey and felt as my other half was disappointed not value for money again we didn’t complain as I had enough to eat and really should of read menu first. Breakfast was another thing I felt for a budget hotel was more than ok. A Buffett again of cooked and cereal/porridge. The cooked was good and although you can tell it is all prepared from catering packs no real cooking was done it was very tasty and filling. You can’t ever really do a bad breakfast. We ate in the bar on last night and felt that was value for money. Location was good 30 minutes walk to Bournemouth close to boscombe nice walk through park. Other reviews have mentioned trouble and homeless people staying there, please remember Brittainia Hotels do have a government contract for this but I never noticed or saw any trouble.whilst there. Staff were very friendly the guy in charge of restaurant service was very friendly and helpful. Reception staff were great as were bar and restaurant staff. They put the queens funeral on tv in bar and was watched by about 12 people which was a nice touch good to watch with other people. Swimming pool was ok and the water was warm and clean. Al in all not an outstanding stay but for the price not bad. Would I go again yes but now I know the expectations they do lots of entertainment weekends and they seem to know their clientele and aim their service at that.

Was really nervous about going here. As I stupidly booked then checked the reviews. When I read the reviews I was horrified. But all my son and myself wanted was somewhere to sleep and shower as we were there for the air show. Managed to get parked easily. Paid and then went back at 4pm to check in. Gentleman who checked us in was very polite and helpful and even got us two fans even though really it’s one per room. Was quite surprised how good the room was really considering all the negative reviews. It was clean, lovely clean white bedding and towels. And a kettle that was spotless inside. Yes it could of done with a little bit of a spruce up but it wasn’t that bad. Lucky we had a room out the front so view wasn’t to bad , but out the back wasn’t nice. Only complaint was fire alarm going of at 3am in the morning for about 20 seconds a couple of times. Then Thursday went of around tea time and this time everyone evacuated only to be told it’s a false alarm. But it was nice to see the staff doing their job a guiding everyone as to where they should go. I would definitely stay here again if I want cheap accommodation near the beach.

Best hotel I've stayed in across the UK. It's not meant to be a 5 star I know but I'm not sure how much more the staff would need to do to get the 5 stars. They've been very decent with me and my Mrs where other hotels would have been looking for reasons to moan and more and they manage to treat us properly whilst keeping all the other guests happy too. Couldn't be happier
