The Tanigawa mountain range mid-November offered a wonderful backdrop to our suite of three rooms including our private outdoor bath. We spent two days walking the grounds, enjoying the wonderful cuisine, taking numerous dips in our bath as well as experiencing dips in the the two larger communal baths. The service was impeccable, the refrigerator refilled regularly, and late night snacks delivered to our room both evenings. The facility is large but there are only about 16 suites so it feels very quiet and tranquil. Whether you are visiting Japan for the first time or are a frequent visitor to onsen resorts, you should consider staying at Bettei Senjuan. We think it is special.

Awesome hotel! Although some places look old, they are very clean and tidy, so they are not affected. Dinner is set but it's different every day, some days are amazing. Breakfast was buffet but basically nothing changed. The hot springs are very good, especially the outdoor hot springs. Snow falling on the body under the stars feels special. The hotel staff is the most hardworking I've ever seen, and the same person dials the front desk, the restaurant and so on. There is a young man named Pu who speaks some Chinese in South Korea who is very friendly and tries to meet the various needs of guests. The only thing that was not very satisfactory was the attitude of a typical Japanese male who was rather perfunctory. We wanted to change the dinner time one day and he refused. Later, I asked the young man named Park, he said yes, and then called and confirmed with the restaurant to help us improve our time. All in all a hotel worth visiting again.

I stayed here in April 2022 on the occasion of the expansion of Kenminwari. As the name of the inn suggests, the sound of the murmuring of the river never ceases. The hot springs are colorless and transparent, glittering and slippery. It is said that there are plenty of hot spring sources, and the spouts of all baths are drinkable. There is a large communal bath for men and women in the main building and a separate mixed bathing open-air bath, which is not connected to the bath in the main building. The hot water is completely transparent, so the hurdle for mixed bathing is high. However, there are separate dressing rooms for men and women, and bath clothes are available at the shop. Dinner is a kaiseki meal with lean beef steak grilled on a stone slab as the main dish. Mr. Nakai is a foreigner, but he does his best to explain the dishes. There was a coffee service (tea, cold water) in the lobby, and I used it three times while sitting on a comfortable sofa. The room was 8 tatami mats, long and not large, but comfortable. Two keys and two yukatas. There is no open-air bath in the bath. The inner hot water was not a net door or a wind, so this hot time was steamy and hot.
