The room smelled like sweat and they didn’t even offer hand soap. The staff was not nice

I highly recommend this hostel to anyone who prioritizes a fantastic location and good facilities while traveling in Minami Aso. If the management could give a little extra push on cleanliness and service, the experience would be perfect!

Amazing cost/value Good wifi Quiet and in natural area but far away from public transport and stores. Only one shower and toilet which can mean waiting a little bit. Overall great stay

It is a super Guest House with everything you need It is a little bit hidden which make it nicer ! It is quiet and peacefull! I totally recommend it!

This is a great place to stay if you want to be in a peaceful and quiet location. It is in the village with not much disturbances. The owner is very helpful and try to answer your questions about bus and train services in the area. You can find some local restaurants nearby using your Google map. The restaurants are close around 3 to 4 pm most days. The closing hours for the restaurants are not accurate. This is a small town; if they don’t have costumers after a certain hours in the evening, they will be closed. Be mindful about that and come prepared with snacks and food!

If you rent a car, this place is very convenient. There is parking at no additional cost. There are cute cats ready to play with you at all times. There is a small kitchen for cooking small meals. There are 2 refrigerators to use. You might have to wait in line to shower a bit, but it's not a problem. Laundry is free, but you have to use coins for drying. A convenience store is a bit further away, you have to drive there.

I had a great stay at a guesthouse in the Kumamoto countryside. There are quite a few hot springs nearby. I was looking for accommodations at the foot of Mount Aso but couldn't find any, so I decided on this place, but it's a bit far. If you enjoy hiking and trekking, why not try walking up Mount Aso?

It is a bit like a youth hostel concept, and the living room public area is provided for everyone to eat and communicate. You need to make your own quilt in the tatami room, and it is best to bring a disposable sleeping bag~ It is also a certain distance to drive there, so it would be better to go there a little earlier~ The kittens are also very friendly

We were shocked by the reception and service at this guesthouse. They demanded an extra 6,000 yen because I made a mistake when booking, stating only one traveler when there were two of us. Yet, it was clearly a double room that was reserved, and the price on the website is clearly stated as being FOR TWO PEOPLE. The woman at reception didn't even give us a chance to discuss the matter; she demanded the 6,000 yen in cash and then went about her business, leaving us at the entrance. We had no choice but to pay, otherwise we would have been left homeless in the countryside that night. She justified the price by saying that since the second traveler was a last-minute guest, it was the higher rate. This is unfair, and we deserved a little more compassion, even if we made a booking error. We absolutely do not recommend this accommodation due to its extremely poor service. Aside from that, the accommodation is decent and comfortable, relatively clean, and the surrounding area is beautiful. You need a car, and be aware that there are few restaurants and they close early. However, convenience stores (konbini) are nearby and accessible by car.

The surroundings are quiet and there is a cypress forest. It is the best value for money guesthouse. There is a microwave, electric kettle, and refrigerator.

Overall it's good, the scenery is really beautiful, but there are no convenience stores or supermarkets around, so don't go out when it gets dark at night. It's completely invisible from the outside. Nice stay. A completely idyllic B&B. Like it very much.
