Mansa Marina Hotel

Would recommend. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast was good and the room looked amazing. We are coming back for sure!

Great location in central Mindelo. The hotel is modern with pool/restaurant on the harbour/sea. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The room was very clean. Perhaps a bit dated and in need of a fresh coat of paint. Other rooms were getting renovated. The room was spacious. AC worked well, internet worked well. Breakfast was good, but not really ready by 7am. It's all on island time!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mansa Marina Hotel. The hotel's facilities are quite good, with a nice pool and really good breakfast. Our room was large with plenty of floor space and plugs to charge things. Wifi was available throughout. Staff were friendly and very helpful. There's a good car hire firm opposite the hotel behind the supermarket called Ocidente Rent-a-car. Nearby Nautilus restaurant is a good dining option and the hotel is walking distance to the ferry to Santo Antao. A taxi from the airport to the hotel is CVE 1200. A couple of negatives were the open bathroom policy. There's no door so no privacy when you want to use the toilet. For some people that may not matter. For us, we the other just sat outside for a bit. Also, although the pool is lovely, it did feel a bit like you were on display as it's easily visible from many other areas around the seafront.

The hotel is in need of some serious maintenance, Everywhere, paint and bits of concrete are missing. We had a beachview room: never choose this one. It has a large window that looks on the beach, but the people on hte beach also look directly into your room, so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. Moreover, the window cannot be opened, because it opens directly onto the beach and you would get a lot of visitors in your room. The swimming pool is not as big as it looks and the toilets near the swimming pool stink of mould, a smell that carries over to the restaurant above it. The reception personnel was in general friendly and the waiters as well. The included breakfast is limited in choice. They have a dispenser for three types of cereals, of which one is empty and the other two are filled with the same cereal. If you want milk in your cereal (there is no yogurt) , you have to ask the waitress. The choice of fruit juice depends on the day, so be prepared for surprises.

I didn't get the room I paid for because the air con was broken. Although they fixed it the next day it was a major hastle to move. I think I should really be reimbursed for the difference. The pool area needs alot more shade and the pool has the wrong tiles. They are slippy and dangerous. I didn't eat in the restaurant but my friends said it was very goid. Outside ares need to be painted. So overall I have a mixed review. This hotel could easily be very good. The staff need to make a small extra effort to look after customers and smile. That would help alot.

Nice place, good accomodation. Breakfast could come withba wider selection.
