First I’ll give the issues we had. After we checked in we wanted to go get dinner. We could not lock our room door from the outside. We contacted the manager. He came back. We got a few different stories such as it’s a system failure and could fix itself by the next day, but no promise, a service call was in and it may be fixed the next day again no promise. He kept saying this is a safe building, there are cameras at the entrance (you did need a key or a code to get in) but this did not make us feel good to leave all our stuff. this was a Friday. I asked for our money back but that was not being offered. it was late, we were hungary so agreed to stay the night. We grabbed something close and ate at our room. The next day our deposit was returned to us (we did no damage so it would have been anyway). We were told we would be moved to a better place on Sunday. We had tours booked Saturday and Sunday, so we hauled our money, passports, electronics with us for both days. We got moved on Sunday to a larger suite, great, but quickly found wifi was not working. Called manager again he was able to fix it. Monday we could finally tour Porto without dragging all our stuff around. When we returned to our building the front door is wide open. I let the manager know. We had left our tv on and it was now off. We were told it could be a energy saving feature. No matter that was creepy. No compensation was offered to us other than a change of room after leaving out belongings in an unlocked room for 2 days. The manager did his best but the owners were not offering much. Breakfast was delivered on time, it was basic but good, but it was definitely less amount on the last day. the positive was the apartments were nice, modern and roomy.
