Casa CAMÉLIA

The hotel was beautiful, as was the garden. The room was very comfortable and a good size. The service was fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Porto is such a beautiful place to visit. We visited in November and the weather was great Many thanks to all the team

We went for a walk in the Casa Camélia garden, and the views were nice. We arrived in winter, late at night. We found that the window of the Buganvília bedroom was poorly maintained and closed incorrectly. This allowed noise and draft to come into the room. The bedroom was uncomfortable as things were in the wrong place. For instance, the TV was on the right-hand side of the bed, which meant viewing it from the bed was awkward. For the off-season, the price was very high. 4-star hotels in Porto included breakfast for less than what we paid at Casa Camélia. We stayed only one night to try it out and planned to extend our stay. However, we were glad that we only booked for one night. I have noticed that the owner of Casa Camélia responds to negative reviews by blaming his customers. I hope he will take my comments on board and spare the blame.

This place is pretty bad. *********** site does not have description that indicates - this place does not have air conditioning. In 80 F it was impossible to stay in this location. Owner was not friendly at all and said that he will charge entire amount, although we have refused to stay there. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Greedy, arrogant manager. Absolutely no human skills.

Hard to imagine a more restful place after a day of touring. A quiet, beautiful garden with fountain overlooking the Douro. Attractive decor throughout that has a fresh feeling. Staff wonderfully friendly, very knowledgeable and so willing to help. Delicious breakfast. It makes your vacation.

An incredible stay at Casa Camelia - we were there 4 nightss - every moment perfect. Spectactular views of Porto & the Duoro River. Magical garden that we relaxed in with wine and cheese, and a gorgeous room, comfortable bed, luxurious bath and space galore! It was a welcome respite from busy days of travel, dinner and wine. The hosts, Raffael & Corrine, were lovely, as was their concierge, Brenda. When back in Porto, we will definitely stay here again!

There are no enough words to express how comfortable, beautiful, charming, & romantic this place is. The service is for a 5 stars ! No doubt! The owner herself (Corine) welcomed us and showed us around. The rooms are exquisite and so well done with views to die for! We had three rooms. The beds were really comfy. We had a small kitchen with a loft for my son. We accepted the breakfast option and to my surprise was in the glass room in the middle of the garden. :0 ..Can’t get better than that. I have a gluten intolerance and they went the extra mile to offer me different options of bread. Breakfast was superb, eggs, breads, fruit, amazing coffee, tea, cheeses, ham, nuts, yoghurt, granola … etc ( take this option you will not regret it) Actually walking around I found out they had Camelia trees in the garden and actually included a pic. This is a New garden and just remodeled property. Construction details (being in the business surprised us) They also helped us with dinner and places to go and visit. The restaurants suggestions were amazing. Some places we walked to and one day we took Uber. They also helped us to schedule our private tour to the wine vineyards and it was a wonderful treat. Delphin the driver was always making sure we were enjoying ourselves and having a good trip. He even included a free Porto in the River ride. He had roses for the men to give to us, the ladies :). Well, I can’t really write all about this stay.
