I had a lot of fun in this wonderful hostel, and its name indicates its place and its beauty. And all of their currency is hospitality and generosity, especially at the reception, Mr. Bimsaras and his elegant colleague, who has experience in managing her reservations at the hostel. The room is beautiful and the morning breakfast is for all tastes. I recommend it to anyone who wants to come to sweet Mirissa.

The perfect location on the beach. Such a shame this hotel was run down. Needs a lot of money spent on it. The rooms were dingy and dirty. Dangerous loose tiles around the pool. Food was ok, and the staff were friendly. Good laundry service but would definitely not recommend.

Initial impression as we arrived was wow this looks stunning . The pool is right out front main reception and a very welcoming invite as you enter . And that’s where it ended . It is clear that there are two kinds of rooms available - the newer yet smaller cleaner rooms . Then the one we stayed in - rooms 501 onwards . Older , dated yet bigger . The First Gentleman checking us in had the enthusiasm of someone who did not want to be there . We could not connect to the internet and had two people spend more than 30 mins trying to connect us . I realise this is a first world issue but with things happening at home we need to be available . The light next to the bed needed a different plug otherwise could not be turned on - let alone plugged in . Should not have to have called for that to be fixed .The drawers missing knobs , the bathroom without hand towels which we had to request . The worst was the amount of black mould and dripping water across the air conditioning pipes in the bathroom . It looks unsightly to say the least . Dinner was an all out argument with multiple staff over a beer that was not ordered . It left us feeling like very under valued clients . Having worked in customer service I have always tried to keep a client happy even if I know they are wrong ( in this case we were not ) . In bed I felt an odd lump down near my feet - under the fitted sheet . I un made the bed to discover someone’s eye drop vessel - unused at least - on top of the mattress protector !!!! What - really - you didn’t notice that as you made the bed . I would recommend you stay elsewhere as it’s 50/50 if you get the right staff and the right room along with the right level of service . Very disappointed . Bad reviews spread faster than good sadly .

I don’t recommend this place, as the room door does not have any kind of lock, bolt or chain from inside. In which case, someone can (and someone actually did) enter the room with a master key from outside. Response of the manager on duty was not professional or responsible either. Shocking and unacceptable! I noticed three more reviews in the Google Reviews section mentioning the same problem. That means, the hotel management has not/cannot fix this basic problem. Disgraceful to say the least!

This is not the luxury’ hotel that social media would have you believe! The location is fantastic but that is where the plus points end. Very tired and dirty room, cleaning non existent unless we specifically asked for clean towels. The food was good one night but poor the other two. Breakfast was ok. The worst thing was water dripping down the walls in the bathroom…..into the hairdryer! It exploded in my hand charring my arm and blowing all the electrics. I was hurt and shocked but the staff were not interested or apologetic. Health and safety clearly not a concern for them. Fortunately I was holding it at arms length so didn’t burn my face. I asked them to book us a taxi to move on to another hotel and they said no. The manager was on leave apparently and they seemingly didn’t understand English when I said I wanted to make a complaint. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Paradise Beach Club and the location is fantastic. The pool was lovely and the hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although dinner was included in the price of the room, we decided to eat out both evenings as there are some lovely beach restaurants just a short walk along the sand away that are great value too.

Upon arrival at Paradise Beach Club Mirissa, I was genuinely impressed by the stunning pool area right at the entrance. The visual impact was immediate and created high expectations for what seemed like it would be a memorable stay. Unfortunately, this positive first impression quickly deteriorated. The most concerning aspect of my stay was the apparent discriminatory service I experienced as an Asian guest. The staff consistently showed preferential treatment to other “white colored” guests, greeting them with warm smiles and prompt attention while providing noticeably less enthusiastic service to Asian visitors like myself. This differential treatment was both obvious and unacceptable. Operational Failures • Priority given to white guests - Staff repeatedly attended to white guests first, even when Asian guests had been waiting longer • Luggage handling mishap - The hotel staff forgot to deliver our bags to our room, causing unnecessary inconvenience • General service inconsistency - The level of attention and care varied dramatically based on guest demographics The dining experience fell short of expectations. While not terrible, the food quality could definitely be improved. For a beachside resort in Sri Lanka, I expected more flavorful and well-prepared meals that would showcase local cuisine. What started as a promising stay with an impressive pool area quickly turned into a disappointing experience. The discriminatory service practices overshadowed any positive aspects of the property. No guest should feel unwelcome or receive substandard treatment based on their ethnicity or appearance. Paradise Beach Club Mirissa has potential with its beautiful pool and beachside location, but the fundamental issues with staff training and service equality make it impossible to recommend. Until the management addresses these serious concerns about discriminatory practices and improves overall service standards, I cannot endorse this establishment. Would I return? No, and I would not recommend this hotel to fellow travelers, particularly those who might face similar discriminatory treatment.

Do not book at this hotel! ****** hotel front desk! We were treated differently compared to Western (white ) guests. Never smiled, didn’t even bother to offer us welcome drinks despite of us being first to arrive. They kept on impressing Western guests, while us?!? Making us feel so unwelcome. It even took them a while to deliver our luggage in our room, not because they were busy, but because they were prioritizing again western guests despite of us being first to ask for help. No matter how nice and polite we are, they will still give you the same face, ****** face “you cant afford this place” look.

We stayed two nights in this hotel as part of an Intrepid tour of Sri Lanka, therefore did not choose it ourselves. If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. Almost everything went wrong for me whilst I was there unfortunately: - Within two hours of arrival, it was clear that a member of staff had been in my room whilst we were on the beach - items had been moved about in my bag (we think they were looking for prescription ***** as it was the washbag compartment). Fortunately everything was in the safe but the manager was called, and basically accused me of lying about it; - Next morning the toilet broke and wouldn't flush, and the kettle overheated and burnt my hand. Our tour guide was able to move me to a room upstairs which was a million times better, but I had to spend some of the time on day two without a room, which was annoying, as this was our only two days at the beach. In terms of location, the hotel is in a great location on Mirissa beach, which I actually really liked. I would avoid staying here at all costs.

This hotel staff, management and location were excellent,we had an unfortunate beach accident at Hiriketyia beach where my daughter broke her leg.The hotel sent their driver with us exclusively for x rays at a clinic, the driver then took us to a private hospital where he helped navigate the chaos of Sri Lankan hospital system a harrowing experience that would have lasted many hours without the hotel driver. An amazing pool, amazing restaurant and bar area, the food was of good standard.Next door to turtle hatching area where they release baby turtles. You are literally beachside all rooms look out to the ocean. Yes the hotel could do with a refit, the amazing facilities make up for any imperfections. Great value the price you pay for room, half board and location..... some of the negative reviews you read, some must have expected a Maldives resort.

Strange lobby with cars reversing in to lobby area, with exhaust fumes in lobby area. Called reception re issues with room. No response in 4 hours, despite telling me to call with any questions or requests. Welcome drink was nice, but no cool towels provided. No lift access, unless you’re in suites. Staying in Room 104. Bathroom has lots of mold in the grout. Only 2 towels supplied, no hand towels. Towels feel like plastic bags and dry the same. TV unable to be viewed. Went to Reception who tried to fix, said to call back. I’ve called 3 times and it’s now 4 hours later and still no response. Safe is a locked draw. Only two thin pillows supplied. Tired and in need of a freshen up. Towels are grey (originally white). Sheets are dirty and pillow cases not changed. Light not working beside bed- the bulb finally got changed after 5 hours and 3 staff looking at it. Not a luxury stay by any stretch of the imagination. Lots of Eastern Europeans staying at hotel with differing ideas of respect towards staff and other guests. The standout experience at the hotel was the live music at dinner ( which was interrupted by children watching tv shows very loudly on their phones. Staff really need to ask people to use earplugs so as not to disturb dining experience)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks holiday at Paradise Beech Club. Our flight times were changed at the last minute, which meant we arrived in the middle of the night, 8 hours prior to our check in time, and the hotel provided us with a courtesy room at no extra charge, to allow us to sleep. I can honestly say, the entire hotel staff could not do enough for you. They were genuinely the most kind, polite and friendly people we have ever met, and we have travelled a LOT! The Hotel facilities are not what you would get from a luxury five star hotel in Dubai or Mexico, for instance, but they do not claim to be, and it is unfair to compare such countries…judge each country on its own merit. Also, it was a fraction of the price! However, We believe the hotel to be the best you’re likely to get in a Southern Asian country. The rooms were basic, but they were clean and comfortable, with a sea view. They were cleaned each day, with tea, coffee and fresh water provided every day. The beech was beautiful golden sand and well manicured. We saw several Turtles burying their eggs on the beech at night, which is a priceless experience in itself! We also snorkelled with turtles on our local beech. There are other nice bars and restaurants on the beech, some with live music. The pool was nice, and an added bonus, as not many hotels in Mirrisa have a pool. The sun-loungers were comfortable with cushions and clean beech towels provided. The food was fresh and tasty with local cuisine on offer and a few other varieties. It was buffet style breakfast and evening meal, which we didn’t even realise was included. The drinks and cocktails were fantastic. So, that being said; I would highly recommend the hotel, and Mirrisa beech is a hidden gem! So it’s 5/5

Well what can we say. The hotel was excellent. They could not do enough for you. We had our flights changed, very Last minute. It meant we arrived at the hotel at 6am as opposed to 2pm. Obviously our room was not available, however they gave us a temporary room to take a nap and freshen up until our room was ready. Throughout the stayz the staff were amazing and super friendly. The food was of a high standard. The facilities and pool were great. The room was basic but fine. Cleaned daily. Tea/coffee and fridge. If you are expecting 5star Dubai, you would be disappointed, but Mirissa doesn't claim to be Dubai. The access to the amazing beach is super handy. We got the opportunity to see some amazing wildlife including turtles laying eggs. Snorkeling with turtles. The surrounding trees have some monkeys. All in all. Perfect for Mirissa. We love the staff. Simon and Sharron.

I had a terrible experience at Paradise Beach Club Mirissa and would strongly advise others, especially local Sri Lankans, to avoid this place. I stayed here with my wife, daughter, and mother across two rooms, expecting a relaxing holiday. Instead, we were met with unacceptable and outright discriminatory behavior. The hotel staff were extremely rude and dismissive, while clearly prioritizing white-skinned foreign guests. Despite multiple polite requests for a takeaway breakfast (as we had early whale-watching plans), the staff failed to provide us with anything – even though we were on a half-board package. We ended up missing meals that we had already paid for. The service around the pool was equally appalling. I tried to place an order, but the waiter rudely brushed me off saying he was “busy,” and never returned. When my wife asked for assistance regarding hotel amenities (which were poorly maintained and not properly marked), she was completely ignored. This level of disrespect and poor service is unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one that claims to be a "beach club." I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are far better places in Mirissa that value all guests equally – regardless of where they come from.
