Broken doors to the cupboard area under the sink; no instructions on how to turn the TV on because the remote was incompatible with the on/off function; when the a/c-heater came on, the fan sounded like a semi was idling outside the room; no USB outlets for charging a phone. The space was adequate, the workspace was very appropriate.

This hotel is a great place to stay. They have a friendly staff and even late at night the staff is friendly and ready to assist.

Our room had a bad odor and hotel couldn’t put us in a different room. Our room was 107 right next to front desk and staff would talk super loud and kept me up at night. My husband ask them to keep their volume down then it got quiet but then they got loud again. Very poor customer service that first night. Next group of staff the next night was better and we got better sleep.

Was clean mostly quiet and offer at least fruit and oatmeal in the price. Very helpful and friendly staff! Thank you!

Candlewood has the nicest staff…always greeting you whether you’re leaving or coming in. I feel safe when staying at this location. Room is like a little studio apartment I can make small meals. The bed is comfortable and I always sleep good.

Very comfortable bed and just perfect for our one night stay. Love that there’s a bar open late and breakfast was good. Will make that our go-to hotel in South Bend!

Very basic hotel. No breakfast or cleaning on weekends. Receptionist were friendly. Initial checking was a bit akward as receptionist wasn’t too knowledgeable of the process.

The staff was absolutely awesome, except the check out guy. We’re running 20 minutes late for check out, I spoke directly with the housekeeper while we’re in the elevator that we were leaving in 15 to 20 minutes and she told me was fine, she had 3 rooms to clean on the 2nd floor. The guy from downstairs knocked on our door 11:05 AM and my wife spoke with him that we were leaving soon and after that he called to the room 2 more times in less than 15 minutes. We spent 3 night over there and the check in person was great also the hotel manager , the housekeeper was super friendly as well. Just the ##### from check out was rude. The hotel was empty since mostly the guest went to leaving their child at college and everyone was leaving on Sunday. The rudeness of the check out guy was absolutely not necessary specially since we’re not even 20 minutes late. We had a long drive back to Florida and I went to get a oil change in my car and took a little longer than usual, we’re in the hurry to leave since we had 1200 miles to drive back home. I’m giving 5 stars because the hotel and the staff was great, but in the kitchen was a lot things missed, like just 1 coffee mug, not enough silverware for 4 people ( 2 double bed room) and only 2 towels, but as soon we addressed those minor issues, the manager was quick and friendly to fix, she was awesome
