Reviews of Jinpuso

This was the worst accommodation experience of my life. I recommend everyone read all the one-star reviews before booking. I'm a seasoned traveler, both domestically and internationally, and have stayed in a variety of accommodations, from 26-person hostels costing 8 euros per night to five-star hotels costing 90,000 yen per night, but this was the worst experience I've ever had. I stayed here for one night in September with a Japanese woman in her 30s and a foreign man in his 30s. The hotel was close to the station, had a view of Amanohashidate from our room, had a private hot spring, the dinner was delicious, and the restaurant staff were all very friendly. However, one elderly female staff member was extremely rude and kept complaining. The reservation confirmation email stated, "Dinner starts at 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM. We cannot serve dinner after that time." I called and requested that dinner be served from 6:30 PM, and they agreed, but she kept complaining, "It's too late, dinner starts at 6:00 PM." There were also no directions to the hotel, so we had to find the hot springs and restrooms on our own. My companion's belongings were fine, but my yukata smelled so bad I couldn't wear it. After checking out, we had plans to do some sightseeing, so we asked permission to leave our luggage there until the evening express train. We returned to the inn at the scheduled time to retrieve our luggage. My companion felt unwell, so we asked the inn staff for permission to use the restroom on the first floor. We used the restroom for about 15 minutes, while I waited on a chair in front of the restroom. The rude older female staff member repeatedly complained, "If you're just here to rest, you'll be charged, even though there are other guests. This is the first time I've ever seen a guest do this." Even after I explained that we were just using the restroom and not resting, she continued to complain in a sarcastic and aggressive tone, leaving me at a loss as to what to do. If they had refused to allow us to leave our luggage and use the restroom after checkout, we could have used the coin lockers and restroom at the station, but they treated us like a nuisance. I had always wanted to go to Amanohashidate, and finally made it all the way from Kanto. I was so impressed by Amanohashidate and the boathouses in Ine, but this inn turned it into a terrible experience...I'm so sad.
