Sheratton Beach Villagio

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Set in 3 blocks, no lift, so be aware if you have mobility issues. A good choice of food, a good-sized swimming pool, a bar and the location is fab. It is literally on the beach. You can walk along the beach to nearby hotels and restaurants in around 10 minutes. The room I was in was huge. A double bed, fridge, wardrobe, TV, and bathroom. Also, a small balcony, unfortunately, this looked over the car park, so it's not a good view. Not so good was the bathroom. Woefully dilapidated, the bath had a shower over but there is no support under tge bath so it feels very unsafe. There's been some botched work done to the shower which was dreadful. Also, as others have mentioned, the water is salty so having a wash is not pleasant. The breakfast: not good. Very little to choose from, in chafing dishes, hard and cold sausages, no bacon (have since learned you can ask for this - so tell your clients!). It was really very poor and could easily be improved. It's a real shame about the rooms. They are huge but the bathroom is really at an unacceptable level, not fit for purpose. The wardrobe was nasty and cheap and about to fall apart. I would suggest a more solid piece than MDF. I'm not sure I would stay here again, maybe if the rooms were updated and the whole place given some much needed TLC. The staff: excellent. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely people.

We stayed here last June and the only bugbear was the terrible salty water couldn't even brush your teeth with it.We were there on new years eve and it was fantastic the food the staff and the entertainment we also went there today 2nd January 24 same high standards today especially Purity who works very had to make everyone happy,I will say beware of the so called life guard who tried to scam my wife for what he called training!! Nothing mentioned before hand after we had paid for swimming and a float ring for the daughter but apart from this excellent place

Very friendly staff who made stay enjoyable. Yes, an older establishment, however, good value for money and excellent central location.

I really enjoyed my stay, very well located in one of the best beaches around Mombasa, Bamburi beach. The hotel is very basic, you get what you pay for. Only two rooms ( apartments) have sea view all the others are facing the entrance or the way to the pool or a roof ( my case). Breakfast can be better and the staff are great. What I really disliked: My view from the balcony, really sad to have such a view ( if you call a roof and garbage around for a view( see photo) at least they could have give me another room with a more decent view. I really think they should clean the area. I understand if the hotel is full, one gets what is available but at least make it decent.
