We stayed in the basement apartment, "Bombadoria", which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Although the building is ancient, with stone-arched ceilings, it feels modern and bright. The living area has a comfortable couch, a table and chairs for dining (although there are so many restaurants nearby that we never ate in the apartment), and a kitchen area with a microwave and a hob for cooking. The shower room is compact but comfortable, and the bedroom is a good size with a large double bed, hanging space and drawer storage. Felice and Tina are very nice, and happy to help with any questions at all about the area, as well as being full of advice about restaurants, cafes and places to see. Felice arranged to meet us to show us were to park the car (there is no parking inside the old city) and walk with us to the accommodation. We were given breakfast vouchers for a cafe about one minute's walk away, which entitled us to free coffee/tea and croissant/toast, etc. The location is great, with the lungomare and the sea immediately in front of the building, the harbour and the castle within a few yards, and dozens of restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk. The railway station is within walking distance (about 15-20 minutes) for easy access to Bari, Brindisi, Polignano a Mare and other places. This is really good accommodation in a great location for exploring old Monopoli - highly recommended!
