The property is in a very convenient location in the historic centre of Monopoli. Less convenient for those who enjoy… eating or drinking water. In our room – which featured a jacuzzi in one corner – we found a tiny wardrobe, no plates or cutlery (not even plastic ones), and a kitchenette that wasn’t really a kitchenette (“only for breakfast,” we were told, but with nothing to eat it with). When we asked for a small plate to eat some fruit, the reply was: “We don’t provide that.” Simple enough, no? As for water, the welcome was warm: one single 500ml bottle for two people, for a six-day stay in 30-degree heat. A second bottle miraculously appeared, but that was it. We asked to have one each day. The request was received with great courtesy. And dropped with equal grace. The responses from management? Polite, kind, punctual… and utterly useless. Every message seemed lifted from a handbook on how to reply without ever resolving anything. A near-Zen balance, but not exactly relaxing when you're on holiday. Overall: charming property, ghostly service. The general impression is of a guest house with hotel looks but the spirit of a DIY campsite. Bring your own plates, water, and sense of humour.
