Hotel Montebello

My mother-in-law was travelling in Italy while North America's Mother's Day. We wanted to surprise her with a Mother's Day gift so I contacted the Montebello Hotel and I asked if they could arrange for a special gift. Not only did they help but they created a magical moment with all kinds of Italian treats and wine. I must admit, the service was unbelievable. Friendly, courteous, helpful. I will definitively visit them when I'm Italy next! Grazie al Montebello Team per tutto!
Hotel Ercolini & Savi

A wonderful boutique hotel, comfortable rooms and a generous morning breakfast is included. We heard that some older hotels have small standard rooms so we arranged for an upgrade to a superior room before we arrived. We are glad we did that, as this room had a comfortable king size bed, a separate changing room, and a modern shower and bathroom between the two rooms. I believe a 4.5 score would be about right. Friendly and helpful staff, and very close walk to the central square of Montecatini Terme. Also nearby was the park, outdoor Verdi theater, and the famous thermal baths (Terme, in Italian).

My husband and I stayed here with our teen sons in the next room. We enjoyed staying here! In no particular order its strengths are: location, quality breakfast; really nice staff, very clean and has comfortable mattresses.

The staff here are very nice and the rooms are spotless. We were in a half board basis so dinner was a choice of one of three starters (mainly soup or pasta) and one of three mains. Dessert was whatever it was - no choice. The food was basic, just about ok, certainly nothing special and we have never had such low quality food in a hotel before in Italy. The only good thing that can be said was that it was included in the HB price so we made sure we ate something tasty and better elsewhere at lunchtimes. The dessert on our first night was good - it was a big baked Alaska which was superb. A bit down hill after that on desserts though - the crostata one evening was dry and tasteless. There is a very basic salad bar available but best to get to it early as it ran out a couple of times we were there. Breakfast was even worse, we found to be a bit lacklustre! Macchine coffee, machine juices (very watery) and some sad pastries. Meats and cheese available but nothing inspiring - we have certainly had better. We opted for a superior room with terrace but sadly the weather was not our friend so it didn’t get the use I had hoped for. The shower was minescule with two bi-fold doors so you had to ease yourself in and then close the doors around yourself and not enough room to bend forward Sitting in the Liberty Terrace we were plagued with flies, mosquitos and gnats and, despite spraying, got quite a lot of bites. The hotel is really convenient for Terme tettuccio - it’s only about 800 metres away The Funicular is a little further but only a 10/15 minute walk away - very convenient! We have been to many parts of Italy and can say that the food in the hotel was the worst we have ever encountered. Would we return? Definitely not!
Tuscany Inn

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at Tuscany Inn Hotel on our recent trip. We stayed for 5 nights at a regular room with daily breakfast included in our booking. The hotel and restaurant personnel were welcoming and helpful. We had no issues communicating with them as they speak and understand English. Everyone performed their jobs professionally. We appreciated that the hotel has a standard for cleanliness that is maintained daily. During our stay, Italy’s government required that hotel guests should be fully vaccinated and FFP2 or KN95 masks worn indoors and outdoors. The government’s strict rules and the hotel’s execution of the policy made us feel safe that we will not contract COVID while in Italy and would be able to go home as scheduled. Buffet breakfast is offered every day at the hotel. Hot food, cured meats, breads, and cheese are served by restaurant staff at a station while individually wrapped items like single serve butter, jam, and biscuits among others are self-serve. Coffee and juice dispensed from machines are self-serve as well. The arrangement was fine with us. We had no issues with measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID infection. Over all the food and service at the restaurant is good and we thoroughly enjoyed our Italian cured meats and cheese and our daily cup of cappuccino. The hotel has a spacious free parking area for guests, the entrance of which is at Viale Ugo Foscolo. It’s a much appreciated amenity by budget travelers like us. If not for the spotty WiFi signal in our room, I would have rated Tuscany Inn a 5. But to gain access to the internet, my husband and I had to stand by our room’s door to use Wifi. A couple of times, I had to hold my phone out in the hallway to get a signal. However, this should not deter anyone from staying at Tuscany Inn. The standard of cleanliness and the quality of service from staff makes up for the spotty Wifi in some rooms. Given the opportunity, we would stay at this hotel again. Grazie mille!

Just returned from a three night trip, this hotel was amazing and what we wanted, it’s in the centre not far from the cable car and close to the train station we visited Luca and Florence during our stay, the staff are what make this hotel so very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Ricardo took time each day to advise on times of trains restaurant choices and guided us on what todo with our short stay. Gabriele was amazing too very helpful and arranged our shuttle transfer prior our arrival, the room attendant was also lovely and attended the room always leaving lots of clean towels and the room very clean this hotel made our stay, thank you Ricardo for all your help and We would definitely return
