Alila Ventana Big Sur, All Inclusive Adults Only

Although the property is visually appealing, it falls short of justifying its almost $2000/night price tag. The staff tries hard, but responsiveness and service efficiency need improvement. My pre-arrival requests were ignored, and check-in was delayed well past the promised time. Benefits tied to the Amex program were not communicated unless asked for. The room, while adequate, and public spaces like the spa show signs of neglect and require renovation. The use of QR codes for menus and the lack of prompt valet service at checkout further diminished the luxury experience expected at such a premium resort. However, the massage service was a highlight, thanks to Jerry. In summary, while the setting is lovely, the overall experience does not meet the standards of luxury and convenience expected at this price point.
InterContinental the Clement Monterey, an IHG Hotel

We arrived at 4 pm and checked in after 7 pm. The front desk said that the hotel system has crashed, everyone can't check in, and they can't give a time when it can be restored. Ctrip's customer service is still very good, communicated in time, and finally managed to check in. It was ridiculous, I argued with the front desk for a long time in my unfamiliar English. The location of the hotel is very good, you can walk to the aquarium, but the room facilities are outdated and need to be updated. The toilet was always beeping and the shower water wouldn't leak. Regardless of the check-in waiting time, the hotel is not bad in the popular area of Montrey, and the service staff are warm and friendly. Catering is good.
The Quail Lodge

The hotel is located 7 or 8 minutes east of the town of Carmel. The rooms are concise in American wood style and the twin beds are large Queen size. The rooms are spacious and clean with shower and bathtub. Parking is free. Compared with the hotels in the town, the hotel's new hardware is better, and the price of the hotel at the same level is 1400.
Bernardus Lodge & Spa

Five stars! From the moment we walked in -- and the front desk team poured us wine and lemonade and gave our children seeds to plant in the garden -- we knew we would love this hotel. The pool was beautiful and warm, even in February. Our kids loved playing bocce ball on the lawn. Our valley villa suite was huge and comfortable, with a fireplace on the balcony. And the whole stay was full of surprises and delights -- a complimentary mini bar with cheese, crackers and wine; plush striped towels by the pool; bottles of water at the valet; toffee chocolates at turn-down. Everyone was so warm and welcoming; we felt like we were staying with family. My children are already begging to come back, and my little one cried when we left. When you book hotels online, it's always hard to tell what the vibe is (will it feel suburban and bland? or cheesy and scene-y? or magical and fun?) -- and I can reassure you, Bernardus is the kind of wonderful, magical place you will love and want to return to for years. xoxo
