Reviews of Red Lion Hotel Monterey

Staying at this hotel was a worse decision. The shower barely worked—half the water came out of the showerhead, and the rest just went straight down the drain. There’s black mold all over the bathroom. The walls are so thin that I could hear everything my neighbor said. When I checked out, I mentioned this to the lady at the front desk, and she just said, “We’re a 2-star hotel; if you don’t like it, don’t stay here next time.” I just wanted her to let the manager know about the broken shower and the mold. This was a last-minute trip, and I really just needed a place to clean up and sleep. Seriously, do yourself a favor: DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE! Motel 6 is 200 times better than here.

Room was not clean, floors sticky etc..  bedding / towel’s however were clean..  booked a king pet room, got a 2 double bed room, booked on 3rd floor when asked for first, had to have it changed (I cannot walk up 3 floors, no elevator)..  no decaf.. on corner of two very busy streets..  I think they spray their grounds with dog repellent,  my dog would not explore the grounds and did his business on the asphalt (which he NEVER does) and only then when he was clearly desperate..  he had no issues anywhere else. I would not recommend..

Absolutely do not recommend. Hauling seven or eight large suitcases up to the second floor nearly killed me from exhaustion. The room was tiny, and the facilities were equally poor.

Stayed for just one night. The facilities felt a bit dated, and the AC unit was old and quite noisy. Otherwise, it was fine. But then again, most hotel AC units in the US are pretty loud anyway.

The room and facilities were good, but the soundproofing was only average, and the toilet flush was very loud.

The TV was quite old and not a smart TV, but the room itself was spacious. I'd definitely return. Parking was convenient, and there's a gas station right next door. Plus, there are bars nearby for the evening, and it's very close to Carmel.

The absence of complimentary slippers was a minor frustration. Additionally, I found it quite difficult to reach the front desk in the evenings. However, the location was excellent and it was very quiet.

The room was quite spacious, and the front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised there was no deposit required. Overall, it was a great stay. I highly recommend it if you're visiting Monterey. Plus, there's a pretty authentic Chinese restaurant about a mile away.

The room was quite spacious and came equipped with a coffee maker and a microwave. I was assigned a first-floor room, and an elevator is also available for convenience. Overall, it's a nice hotel. The only minor issue was when I went to make coffee, I found a used coffee pod from the previous guest still left in the machine.

The hotel was generally fine, though we encountered a minor hiccup during check-in. Other than that, everything was smooth. The Ctrip staff handled the issue quite promptly, and I'm pretty satisfied with their service.

The room was spotless, as expected from Red Lion. A nice bonus was the complimentary coffee and bread, available for pickup in the lobby from 7 AM. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with a gas station right next door and a Whole Foods Market directly across the street!

The room was decent. The electric heater worked well and was quick to dry small items of clothing. No microwave. Parking was convenient. There's a gas station right next door, but I found the gas prices a bit high, so I didn't fill up there. Across the street, you'll find a supermarket and Macy's.

Nice place. Appreciate if the bathroom shower curtains are placed properly.
