Villa Montecastello

The owner greets you with a card reader and gives you the key to the room, an old room in need of maintenance, with worn sheets, stained towels, and in the bathroom, only rolls of toilet paper and nothing else. It's an outdated room; there's not even shampoo or soap. Just a small, repackaged shower gel. It's illogical that a room at this price doesn't include cleaning service, so if you want your room cleaned, you have to pay an extra daily fee. Breakfast is also not included, and dinner is extremely expensive for the area. There's no à la carte menu as described on the website. But the strangest thing is that if you want to order food, you have to give them, at best, 24 hours' notice. You don't even have access to coffee since the place doesn't serve it. The front desk (an old room) is run by the owner, but it's always closed, so there's no one to ask for anything. You have to drive on a dark road at night if you want to have dinner or buy water. To turn on the air conditioning, you have to notify the owner in advance. This means that if you're hot in the middle of the night, there's no way you'll get air conditioning, which is outrageous for a place at this price. The facilities are extremely poor, consisting only of a pool with some sun loungers that look neglected. My suggestion is that for the same price, or even less, you can find a hotel with better service and amenities.

We booked two nights at an absurdly high price. The property is abandoned: the staff is nonexistent, no one answers their phones. Upon arrival, I asked for two extra pillows, and they brought them dirty and wrinkled as if it were the most natural thing in the world... for breakfast, we got two croissants and some stale bread (only because we asked, otherwise not even that). The worst thing was that when we returned to our room this afternoon, we found the door—which we had locked—open and the bed hadn't even been made!

Celebramos nuestra boda en villa Montecastello y sin dudas lo llevaremos siempre en el corazón. La villa es hermosa, con todas las comodidades necesarias para disfrutar de un entorno que es único y mágico. Pero sin dudas la atención de sus dueños Jens y Barbara que se ocuparon de cumplir todos nuestros deseos aun cuando gran parte de la organización fue a la distancia. Su dedicación, su calidez y el cuidado con el que atienden cada detalle se sienten en todo momento. También vimos la experiencia de rentar un departamento en otra oportunidad y vivir la real vida en la toscana, cocinando nosotros mismos y disfrutando del entorno y también fue una gran experiencia. Sin dudas villa Montecastello estará en nuestro corazón siempre!

Excelente lugar en un entorno de ensueño. La experiencia en familia fue maravillosa. Nuestra estadía nos permitió disfrutar de la naturaleza del lugar, muy buena comida y atención impecable. Lo recomiendo para disfrutar de La Toscana!!
