This is an exceptional property that includes its own nature trails and gardens. Tony greeted us warmly and embodied Costa Rica's mantra Pura Vida. He was exceptionally helpful in providing recommendations for experiences based on our expressed interests.

Small, family run cabin style accommodations, that were quiet and well stocked for a short or longer stay. We had a family cabin that could have slept at least 8, and we found it quite spacious. It’s not luxurious, but clean and all you need. The pool was very refreshing. A great location to go to Santa Elena to wander, or do the cloud forest adventures

Melissa met us and was really friendly and helpful. Showed us to our lodge and gave some information about the grounds including the resident sloth. She also provided some helpful information about visits the cloud forest.
Amazing property which you could walk around for about 40 minutes. We saw all sorts of wildlife.
The lodges was very clean and had everything you needed to cook.
It is about a 20 minute walk from Santa Elena up a steep hill but a taxi is cheap if you don’t want to walk.
This was our favourite place to stay in Costa Rica and would recommend everyone to stay here. Watching the hummingbirds on our balcony was a great highlight from our stay.

A beautiful retreat in Monteverde. We only stayed one night and I wish we had stayed longer. The grounds are lovely, perched on a hill with views, lush vegetation, pool, delicious breakfast, and most of all very helpful and friendly staff. And it was a bargain too!

Really lovely place to stay in monteverde, close to the restaurants etc in Santa Elena and a short drive from the reserves. The cabins are in a really peaceful location surrounded by beautiful forest and a lot of wildlife especially birds. They are simple but clean and comfortable. Each has its own little terrace and outdoor seats and they feel quite private from each other. There is a short trail on the property through local forest.

We spent one night at La Pradera during a recent trip to Monteverde. We were greeted warmly by Tony upon our arrival. He showed us around the property and pointed out a baby sloth sleeping in the tree by the reception area. This is a family run business located on a beautiful farm property with lots of birds and wildlife. They have a hiking trail around the property with signage about the local flora and fauna. Our cabana was very charming with comfortable beds and all the essentials we needed. Breakfast was excellent - made fresh to order and served with warm hospitality. My son and I have celiac disease and they were very accommodating in providing us a gluten-free breakfast. We enjoyed hiking around the property, meeting the other guests and seeing the birds and animals.

Run by a local family on land that has been reforested and actively attracts so much wildlife. We had two sloths on site the first day and also saw snakes, frogs, parrots, and so much more. The cabin was absolutely beautiful as were the entire grounds. Service was amazing - cannot recommend enough.

What a great Perserve! We throughly enjoyed our stay! From the moment we checked in until we left we were thrilled. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and well appointed. The son of the owners, TONY, who runs the place was the best you could ask for. He was immediatly welcoming and helpful. He spoke lovely English and set up tours and transportation for us while we there. The Preserve is beautiful and has a great walking trail all around the property. You can sit out on your front porch with your morning coffee and enjoy the wildlife Would definatly recommend this place.

I really enjoyed our stay at Pradera. The staff were really nice and accommodating. There were some resident sloths there! It was fun watching them. The staff would go out of their way to show us where they were. There were hiking trails on the property that we loved walking on and exploring. We saw some colorful birds and an agouti on the property. We also loved playing with their dog Capitan! So cute! It was nice having a pool to cool off in after hiking. The cabins were rustic but had a nice roomy lay out. The location of the hotel was a little far from the town if walking, but we had a car so it wasn’t a problem. My only complaint was that sometimes there would be a sewer type smell coming from the bathroom. If it wasn’t for that, I would have given 5 stars.
