Hotel Chrome Montreal Centre-Ville

Quite small room but comfortable bed. Great location. About 15 min walk to downtown.

The price here is very good, but the house is not soundproof. You can hear the sound of the party next door at night, and there are people smoking in the room, which can be smelled in the corridor. The good thing is that the price is relatively good, but the deposit is too high.

The hotel is extremely old and poorly maintained. Furniture is outdated, and the bathroom had visible mold. No housekeeping was provided during our 3 days / 2 nights stay, and this was never explained at check-in. Reception staff was arrogant and unhelpful. When we returned from sightseeing around midnight, homeless people were allowed inside the hotel and were damaging Christmas decorations. The night porter did nothing, which made us feel unsafe. A deposit was blocked on my credit card despite already providing it as a guarantee, which I have never experienced before. At checkout, only a proforma invoice was issued and I had to ask twice for a proper one. Despite clearly providing my passport at check-in, my invoice incorrectly listed my country as United Kingdom. I am a German citizen, and my personal details were not updated at all. As someone familiar with hotel reception work in Europe, this shows a complete lack of professionalism and basic data-handling standards. Not recommended!

Got upgraded to a king room for the price of other smaller rooms at other hotels. Clean, quiet, pretty comfortable. Would stay again.

The location is very convenient but the hotel service is terrible for us. The toilet is so durty and hummit. I do not recommend this hotel for you.

Acceptable

The hairdryer in the room was broken. We stayed there for 3 nights and keep requesting for repair since first night, while it was still not fixed before we leave. Also, there is no housekeeping services in the hotel.
