Makis Louvlis Apartments

The only place I would ever stay in Corfu - lovely family run hotel and the most accommodating hosts, nothing is ever too much trouble! We visited as the first trip with a 6 month old and the family could not have been more helpful - the best food we have eaten throughout our stay is the bbq in the evening. Clean rooms and close enough to shops while still feeling tucked away from the main streets - a must stay for anyone that wants to experience the Greek culture

We come here very regularly, simply because our stay is always so relaxing and lots of fun. The pre 2019 reviews are now irrelevant, as Akis has upgraded all the rooms and the outside area since. Akis and Mama and Papa are very welcoming, often staying up late to welcome late arrivals, and to provide a late repast. Which is always so welcome. The rooms are spotless, and modern, with a basic kitchenette with fridge, crockery and cutlery is provided. The bathrooms large wet room style towels are provided and changed regularly. The apartments are literally a short walk to the main thoroughfare which is lined with restaurants, shops etc. it is a short walk to the bustling beach where there is plenty of nightlife. Messongi is a short 10 minute walk away, and the Old Village is a 2km walk. The pool is a delight and popular among the locals who often come in during the afternoons for a dip. Akis a the king of the bbq, he will source fresh local ingredients to order for your meal. The bar is well stocked with a variety if beers, wines, liquors and cocktails available. Akis is always on hand to help book taxis and trips for customers. People come back here year on year which is testimony in itself. We highly recommend Makis Louvlis Apartments.

Makis and his family literally saved our last day on the island as we had to leave our villa by 10am and our flight home wasn't until 10pm that day. We were made so welcome by Makis. We spent the day by the pool having drinks and some lovely food and we were told we could use the shower to get ready for our flight home. The place was full of returning customers which is a testimony of what a little gem it is! They told us the rooms are spacious and spotless and that Sfinaki comes alive in the evening with fabulous food on the BBQ and great atmosphere! Thanks to Makis and family for their warm hospitality.

Where do I even begin. What an absolutely amazing hotel. We had such a lovely stay here for 6 nights. Akis (hotel owner) and his family were incredible, so welcoming and always went above and beyond for us. We stayed as 3 young girls who love the party life however felt that much warmth and friendliness from Akis and his family, we even decided to stay in some nights at the hotel and sit and have drinks with him, he really makes the hotel what it is. The apartments were spotless and so well taken care of, cleaned every 2 days. The pool was incredibly clean and even the locals boasted about how Akis was known to keep his pool and hotel in general very clean for all his guests. We stumbled upon this hotel not knowing much about the area or what there was to do, but it ended up being the best trip of our lives. Everyone in this area were so incredibly friendly we felt so safe, and the hotel is just a short walk away from the beach, bars, and plenty of restaurants. I cannot recommend this place enough, we have even taken Akis personal number to contact him to stay again next year!

This lovely, family owned and run, taverna has been upgraded year upon year to a very high standard. The rooms are large, bright and airy, with spacious bathrooms, laid out as a wet room. Each room has a small kitchenette, ideal for making beverages and light lunches. The outdoor area is ideal for relaxing and the pool area is a favourite among locals. The downstairs rooms are easily accessible for wheelchair users. Akis and his family are perfect hosts, and Mama’s food is delicious. The taverna is very handy to all local amenities including restaurants and is a short stroll to the beach. We love our visits to Akis and family.

Fantastic week spent in these family run apartments, Akis the son and his mum and dad Vassou and Makis make you feel so welcome, met some great people around the pool area also, who regularly go back every year to meet up, the family are well respected in the area and can provide any local knowledge you require, very nice food and drinks are available at the apartments at reasonable prices and Akis will cook a BBQ for you and your guests tailored to what food you like, again for a good price, the bar stays open quite late and is nice to have a nightcap listening to music before bed, the apartments were very nice also, not really suitable for full on self catering (but a kettle, fridge, cups, glasses are provided) which was more than adequate, the aircon was great and the rooms were spotlessly clean with regular maid service though out the week, will definitely go back and would highly recommend staying here

Just returned from this wonderful holiday. Apartments were spotless, owner Akis was amazing!!!!!! Couldn’t do enough for you. His local knowledge is also amazing. Anything you asked him to do for your book taxis etc. He would do anything for you. The food is all cooked fresh. Akis did a BBQ one night. Fantastic. We will definitely return. Thank you Akis so much
