Elba Motril Beach & Business Hotel

This stay was bitter-sweet. The hotel was nice because it had an indoor pool on the 4th floor and no body there to bother us. They charge 7 euros per day for parking, which is a but extreme being that we already paid for the room and breakfast. You can however park in the street for free. Our biggest issue was with the manager Moise and one of the staff members. They didn't speak English and were extremely rude, we felt it was because we were foreigners. We have a 4 year old and 2 year old and a 8 month old baby. When we went to breakfast the lady was very rude and asked us to pay for the kids, she charged us one full adult (12 euros) for the 2 kids, but our kids barely eat anything. The following day we left the kids in the room and took turns coming to eat, however the woman somehow managed to scold my wife and said she could take a piece of bread and cheese upstairs, to the point she remembered to speak English and said: "what now you don't understand English".... The following day the woman was gone and there was only a man with no name badge at the breakfast enterence. As soon as we came to the door the man asked to pay for the kids, but the kids were in the room, so we didn't understand what he was trying to charge us for. When we asked for the manager he lied and said there is no manager... then he threatened to call the police on us, which again I don't understand why, the biggest issue was he didn't understand or speak English, everything was just a few words... Finally he told us "bale, bale, go go go" We later asked again for the manager and then the same man came, when we wanted to file a complaint he just walked away and said this is Spain, all children must pay... Anyway the hotel looks nice but be very careful with the staff, they don't like English speakers and definitely don't like kids. If possible go to a more family friendly hotel. A few more issues were they didn't bring us clean towels nor cleaned the room. We're were there 4 nights but they only came once. We were locked put of the door somehow because the key cards reset themselves and we were wet after the pool, we asked the cleaning lady (which saw us there already for 3 days) to open the door and she kept saying no and let the kids stay wet and waiting at the door until we went to get the keys renewed at the front desk. (Wet and in swimming clothes, not comfortable to come down to reset the keys)

Hotel was great with a very good buffet for both dinner and breakfast and a large room

We are a couple in our 60s travelling from uk through France and now Spain we have an extremely well behaved dog so thought we would be treat ourselves and book in to this hotel When I booked this on *********** no mention of price of accommodation for our dog so I booked in for 4 nights We arrived lunchtime only to be greated by a very un welcoming receptionist who said we can't stay here as our dog is too big Discrimination........... Plus another couple had a small dog and we're going to be charged 55 euro per night Outrageous Do not advertise pet friendly as you clearly are not dog friendly I asked to speak to the manager but strangely enough I was he was in a meeting Do not stay here if you have a dog.. You won't be welcome We booked into another hotel up the mountain and they were so accommodating and not a problem with our dog

Somewhat dated hotel with competitive pricing. We had a dog with us and that cost no less than 55 euros for a night. Never paid so much.Way too expensive compared to the total price. Then it is better to indicate that dogs are not wanted.

I absolutely loved this hotel. So much so I actually booked their sister hotel in Almeria next wk. So relaxing. The hotel provided free entertainment during our stay. And all of the act were Really great acts. I was able to join in as an magician's assistant. Hilarious fun. Staff are wonderful and some speak good English which is helpful when our Spanish is getting more dreadful. We've had never heard of Montril and I believe it's because we go to places like Granada and Madrid but I have to say what a welcome they gave us. Food is exceptional. Breakfast and lunch and dinner so reasonable. There is onsite Parking is undercover and it's only 7 euros a day. Well worth it. The swimming pool area is glorious. (See pic) I highly recommend this hotel. Come and support it you won't be disappointed. Yes I accept the area needs investment but there are plenty of Spanish who come and stay each weekend. There are two large motorhome and camping sites close by. Which I have taken note of because we do have a motorhome. I've wanted to include some photos of the restaurant food as it's 3 /4 courses for 20 euros per people and you can eat as much as you can manage.
