We spent 3 nights here after spending 3 nights at the Red Roof Inn in Myrtle Beach. The one in Myrtle Beach is a 5 star resort compared to this one. Our room in Myrtle Beach was almost double the size of the one in Mt. Pleasant, and it was almost half the price (we were in Mt. Pleasant during the week not on a weekend). When we checked in, the young man at the front desk was surly at best, it appeared that he didn't want to be there. There were tree trimming contractors staying there (they cut trees for the power companies) and they started their big bucket trucks up every morning at dawn. So even if you wanted to sleep past dawn you couldn't. The Red Roof Inn in Myrtle Beach was 4 stories with inside access to the rooms, a spacious lobby, nice pool area and nice grounds. Contrast that to this Red Roof Inn which is more typical of one that you would see off the interstate where you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night. But it's in an upscale area, so I don't know why it's not a better hotel. It needs updating, and the grounds aren't the cleanest. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because of it's location and because of the front desk clerk Becky, who is personable and helpful. I would go back to Mt. Pleasant in a heartbeat but would look for somewhere else to stay.

I have stayed at this hotel many times including 2 times in 2021 and just booked my stay in 2022. I was there in 2020 also and will return again. I frequent Patriots Point and Shem Creek and it is close to both. I have walked from the July 4th fireworks show at Patriots Point to the hotel 2 times and have used Uber also. Its quiet and close to most activities.
