GGuest UserMy mother and I stayed at The Toki for three nights in mid-April, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Everything about the property felt thoughtful and comfortable. The hotel is about a kilometre from the station area, and they make this commute effortless with a shuttle service running multiple times an hour between the station and the reception. Since the villas are set on a steep slope, they also shuttle guests up and down between the reception and the villas, which was incredibly convenient and much appreciated. When we checked in, they had a Mount Fuji-shaped chiffon cake waiting for us in the dining area. It was delicious! One of the things we loved most was the breakfast service. Each morning, breakfast was delivered directly to our doorstep; at check-in, we were simply asked to choose our meal from the menu and select a delivery time. Great way to start the day. They also offer daily housekeeping, and if you choose to skip it on any day, they give you coupons to use at the little shop near reception, which stocks food ike cup noodles, cakes, chips, nuts etc., and fun souvenirs as well. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, accommodating and helpful, and their excellent English made everything especially easy for us. The villa itself was outstanding. Ours had completely unobstructed views of Mount Fuji from every window on both the floors, including the bathroom, which was amazing. Waking up to those views each day was unforgettable. The sunny, clear days were a huge bonus. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, and there was even barbecue equipment for the large terrace. The villa was impeccably clean and equipped with every amenity we could possibly have needed. We had a truly fantastic stay at The Toki, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable stay in Kawaguchiko.

SSudlrmanJust stayed for one night to see Mt. Fuji and Iyashi no Sati. Wish we stayed for more! The location is great, very close to Kawaguchiko Station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is very clean, has tatami, and also has futons (besides the beds). Our room is directly facing towards Mt. Fuji, but the neighbouring building blocked it so only the tip is visible. We went in winter so there weren't many flowers in the garden. But they have a specific spot within the resort to see Mt. Fuji clearly. There are also plenty of local restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. Will definitely come here again!

MM693401****Pros: 1. The Mt. Fuji view was perfect. The cleanliness and condition of the facilities were absolutely fine, even exceeding expectations. It's much better than some older, traditional hotels with Mt. Fuji views, offering excellent value for money at this price point. 2. The hotel service was also great. From the front desk to the restaurant staff and the housekeepers, everyone offered service with a smile. Perhaps because it was the off-season, another couple checking in at the same time received a room upgrade. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle service from Kawaguchiko Station. 3. The restaurant staff were very professional. While the sukiyaki for dinner wasn't a huge surprise, it was decent and had no flaws. 4. It's only a few hundred meters from Oishi Park, which is easily walkable. Compared to other attractions, it's a bit more niche, but the scenery is beautiful and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Cons: 1. It's quite a distance from Kawaguchiko Station, making it a bit far from other attractions. 2. You can't see Mt. Fuji at night due to the lack of light (which isn't the hotel's fault). 3. All rooms are non-smoking, and the small open space in front of the hotel with Mt. Fuji views is also a non-smoking area. There's only a small designated smoking area at the back entrance of the hotel. As a smoker, it's a bit inconvenient, but completely understandable and acceptable. 4. Also, there are no convenience stores or supermarkets within walking distance of the hotel. The Oishi Store listed on Apple Maps is actually closed. 5. To reach the hotel, you have to walk up a relatively long slope. It can be a bit tiring if you're on foot, but once you're down the slope, you're right by Lake Kawaguchiko, and there are very few people. Overall, the hotel is excellent. If you're staying with a partner, you can take a walk along Lake Kawaguchiko below the hotel. With Mt. Fuji right in front of you, the atmosphere is romantic and there are few people around. Highly recommended.

DDadayanjinglongExcellent value for money! The view of Mount Fuji from the room was truly amazing. The cabin had four beds, perfect for four people. Cutlery and an oven were also well-stocked. Breakfast was quite unique and could be enjoyed inside the cabin! If you're driving and have a group for a BBQ, it would be absolutely fantastic! Overall a great stay, but there are two areas I hope the hotel can improve: 1. There are two windows on the second floor of the cabin without curtains. Even though it's in the mountains, it was still quite bright at night, and I was woken up by the light. Curtains would be a great addition. 2. There's no floor heating on the second floor, and no slippers were provided, so my feet got really cold. If you're sensitive to cold, I recommend turning on the air conditioning on the second floor as soon as you check in.

GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, with both a regular bed and a tatami mat available. The view was absolutely amazing, with Mount Fuji clearly visible! We could even enjoy a private onsen bath right in our room. However, this also made the room quite humid, leading to a noticeable musty or damp wood smell. It was essential to air out the room by opening the windows or running the AC daily. We were able to reserve a private dining room, which also offered views of Mount Fuji. One last thing, laundry service costs extra.

GGuest UserThis onsen hotel by Lake Kawaguchiko offers stunning views of Mount Fuji from the room. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the train station in the morning, which is convenient as it's a bit of a walk. For the best photo opportunities of Mount Fuji, head a short distance to the right of the hotel.

WwxzlooHonestly, my overall experience at the hotel was fantastic, completely different from some of the reviews I read. Since I was traveling with a child, I couldn't book a room with a private hot spring. Perhaps everyone's rooms have their own tubs, or maybe it was just good timing, but the public bath felt like my own private oasis – I had it all to myself! I opted for the 'one night, two meals' plan. Both breakfast and dinner were incredibly rich in variety and quality. They even served eel for both adults and children, and the food was truly delicious; we all enjoyed it immensely. The afternoon tea snacks were also excellent. I can't speak for other dates, but at least during our stay, it was an absolutely perfect place for a vacation. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

AAnonymous UserExtremely satisfied with this hotel, it exceeded my expectations! **Facilities:** I saw some guests mention the hotel being old, but actually, the facilities are excellent. Besides the distinctive tatami rooms and rooms facing Mount Fuji, there's also the hotel's special hot spring. The outdoor bath has such a great vibe, and it's real hot spring water – my skin felt so smooth afterwards. **Environment:** There are absolutely no issues with the hotel's environment, cleanliness, or rooms; it meets a four-star-plus standard. You can see a full view of Mount Fuji within a 3-minute walk from the hotel, with both sunrise and sunset clearly visible. **Dining:** The hotel's breakfast isn't particularly varied; I wouldn't recommend paying extra for it. Dinner, however, is highly recommended. It offers a good variety of Japanese specialties, and many people think it's much better than eating out. Some reviews recommend the Wheat restaurant in the hotel courtyard or the restaurant across the street, but the cost-effectiveness might not live up to expectations, and the actual standard could be quite different. **Service:** I didn't give five stars for service. The hotel's front desk offers Chinese service, and the Chinese staff are especially friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with no communication barriers. However, I was very dissatisfied with the restaurant staff, who I believe were Indian. Breakfast ends at 9:30 AM, and we thought we just needed to have our food by 9:30 AM and wouldn't get more. Instead, the server rudely told us to ”Go Out!” in an impolite manner while we were still eating our paid breakfast. These four stars are solely for the excellent front desk service. **Additional Notes:** If you have high standards for a hotel, want a hot spring experience, and wish to be close to Mount Fuji, this is an excellent choice. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland and a few minutes from Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal, which is very convenient for returning to Tokyo or other places. The front desk service is fantastic; a big thank you to the Chinese lady at the front desk.

Bbrayden_foongIt was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.
