I stayed at the hotel for three nights and they had to be the worst three nights I’ve ever spent in a hotel. Just for background I have been a regular user of this hotel and I have noticed that with every stay the standards drop, on this occasion they hit an all time low. The room we were given had a terrible smell and the stench from the bathroom was so bad that I had to complain at reception, they sent a chap armed with a can of air freshener which made the smell even worse . As we had just arrived from a long flight and were really exhausted I put up with the foul smell for the night and would complain in the morning . In the middle of the night my wife woke me up when she notice a lot of noise coming out by the ceiling near the headboard of the bed which lasted a few minutes, when we looked around we noticed yellow pieces of cardboard stuck down to keep out rats from entering the room as confirmed by housekeeping the next morning . From that moment onwards we couldn’t sleep fearing that these rats may in fact enter our room . In the morning I complained at the reception desk who sent someone to look at the room and confirm our fears and was transferred to another room after a three hour wait . The second room didn’t have the smell of a public toilet like the first one but I noticed cockroaches in the bathroom . In the morning as I was showering one of these must have somehow crept onto the towel and as I was drying myself jumped onto my body , this was the most horrific feeling I have ever experienced.
