Courtyard Muncie at Horizon Convention Center

Good and clean hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Recommended.

Very nice room and comfy beds.

We had an extended weekend stay in Muncie. This hotel worked out for us. It’s a large hotel with convention center. We didn’t dine at their restaurant, but we did take advantage of their fitness center and indoor pool. Our room was spacious and came with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The views weren’t anything special.

Told at check in my room type was not available. We were then “upgraded” to a room without air conditioning. With the “upgraded” room temperature approaching 80, we asked for a different room, and for whatever reason, the originally booked room type was now available. The hotel’s parking garage elevator was also not working.

I was disappointed . The sheets were worn and not comfortable nor did they fit the bed well. The pillows were lumpy and the towels were pretty thin and worn. I expected better. The floor in the bathroom was sticky as well. The hallway to the elevator was full of water as the pool was near the main walkway to the elevator. They did have signs up indicating wet floors but would have been better if they mopped up the water more regularly. On the plus side, the lobby looked nice and updated as did the room tho the bathroom could use some attention. I love that they employ special needs people and give them an opportunity to make a living! We were tired after a long day and didn’t let the disappointment interfere with our visit. Just wasn’t what I thought it would be.

Everything except the toilet bowl and shower. 1. We had to open the toilet tank because it wouldn’t fill up. 2. The shower had a blank area in the middle of the spray.

IF they have a convention before yours, Rooms will NOT be ready at 3, 4, maybe not even 5 pm. They got a new computer system. No one knew how to use. Check in took almost 1 hour in line, then you couldn't check in or get a key, because "rooms were NOT ready". Figure out how to GIVE ME A KEY NOW, and I promise I will leave my stuff in car till HOURS later. (I didn't actually go to my room till after 11PM, but got my key finally about 8 PM after checking in 'again'). Then, 2nd day of our stay for entire convention, they RESET all the Keys, so you had to go back and get a new KEY. My microwave only had one button that worked (I made management aware), and the beds were way to soft. The Hallways were filthy and needed vacuumed badly. One positive - the Lobby bar experience Friday night was a positive, with a friendly attentive staff. I enjoyed the courtyard. Great quiet place to sit. Manager at hotel was trying to address our concerns, but they needed MORE check in computers, and MORE staffing, and shouldn't switch over to a NEW system until people are trained on the new system. That is what overtime is for... Should we repeat the convention at the Horizon Center in the future, I plan to stay elsewhere.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, April 6 and 7th. It was very cold outside, and, as it turned out, cold in our room. The temperature kept dropping throughout the night. The next day maintenance came but cold air kept blowing not warm. He suggested we move rooms, which we did. That room was fine. When we checked out, we were asked how everything was. We said we had to move rooms. She asked if we were on the second floor. We were. She said they were having issues there. Then why put anyone on that floor? It was during the week and not crowded. She asked about my receipt, and I asked her to email it. She didn’t. I called a day or so later and talked to a gentleman who said he would send it. He did except it showed only our first night. I called another day and got someone who took my information to give it to someone who could help me. No one ever called or sent the receipt. Another day I called, and that person told me to call after 3:30 and ask for Christina. Today, April 16, I called. I was put on hold for 10 minutes. When someone finally picked up, I was told Christina was not in but I could be transferred to the manager. Instead of being transferred, I was disconnected. I was too disgusted to try again today. It’s been over a week just to get a receipt of my charges.
