The hotel is in a very good location, right on the beach. You can sit in the restaurant and watch the sea. It takes two or three minutes to walk to the beach. The room is not big, but it is very clean and tidy, and the decoration is distinctive, as the name suggests - ship

Popped in at 16.30 to book a table for two at 17.00 midweek.. that was fine but as all the tables in the bar were taken by families and dogs i asked if we could sit in the restaurant and wait as it was raining and a few people were drinking in the restaurant already.. was told no but you could stand in the bar ( two OAP’s) and wait.. i told the man no thanks we will go elsewhere… the man asked if i still wanted the table at 17.00… noooooooo we went to a hotel in overstrand and received excellent service and food.. suggest you only go to the ship if you seat in the garden and take in the sea views .. customer service not required by the man for that

Stayed for a couple of nights with a dog in tow. Nice comfy rooms, ours with a big bathroom where we could leave the dog over breakfast and dinner. The food was very good, the bar area felt like a proper pub, atmosphere good throughout and staff very friendly. Highly recommended

This was our first time staying at this hotel and we were thoroughly impressed. We had an amazing anniversary weekend. We stayed in room number six and it was the loveliest hotel room we have found in all of Norfolk. The room had great views and was spotlessly clean. The staff were great. This is a very dog friendly hotel as well. Breakfast was really enjoyable and well cooked. The beach is on the doorstep and great for doggy walks. We look forward to returning to this hotel as it is a great base for exploring the local area. Fantastic

Had a really enjoyable 4 night stay, quaint nautical themed room (cosy double) bed was very comfy, well stocked hospitality tray and room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was superb, lots of choice, freshly cooked and very tasty. Food a little on the pricey side but of excellent quality. Made to feel at home and everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. Now for the fly in the ointment ... the kitchens extractor fan. It's noisy, very very noisy and can be heard from both the front and back bedrooms. My room was at the front of the building and I could EVERYTHING going on in the kitchen, banging, swearing, men shouting as well as the constant droning of the fan which started at 8:00am and didn't stop until about 9:00pm. The fan acts like an amplifier projecting the sounds from the kitchens into the rooms & is very annoying especially at night. A very big design fault that needs sorting... Sorry...

Booked for a meal this evening and was very disappointed with the amount of dogs allowed in the dining room. The table opposite to where we were sitting the dog was whining and the the one next to us was snorting. Not very conducive to enjoying a meal. The people opposite then picked up their dog and sat with it’s head on the table. We told the waitress and she said they were dog friendly throughout. Needless to say after using the Ship for many years this will be our last visit unless the dog policy is reviewed. We left without ordering desserts or coffee.

We visited, daughter grand daughter and me, August BH Sunday. It was inevitably busy, but the food only took a short time to arrive. Great selection, beautifully cooked and delicious. I had the pork roast, daughter the veg lasagne and breaded mushrooms, grand daughter the chicken nuggets, chips and beans - highly recommend

My daughter and family ordered a meal each and drinks totalling £60 + and were still waiting after an hour. Had to wait another 25 mins for order they had forgotten! No apology just sorry for delay!! There are too many large tables inside the bar area, would be better if dining was kept in the back to allow more room for ordering, drinking and snacks

Has seen better days as the place seemed run down and tired. Food was so so but nothing to rave about Massive beer garden which needs to be updated Didn't like the queuing system to get a drink, felt i was back at school
