Rosewood Munich

Our recent stay at the hotel featured two Deluxe Suites, each over 60 square meters and uniquely laid out with separate living rooms, bedrooms, and dressing areas. The rooms were tastefully decorated with fine details and a well-stocked, chargeable minibar. Notable amenities included custom coffee machines with milk foamer (rare find at hotels) and high-quality Marshall Kilburn sound systems. The suites only had one toilet, but the bathroom towels were plush and luxurious. Additionally, the light and curtain controls scattered around the room and were inconvenient to operate. The hotel's overall service was exceptional, particularly at the front desk and restaurant, with attentive staff and a welcoming atmosphere. However, housekeeping was inconsistent, often overlooking details like cleaning used cups and utensils during turndown service. Also, despite requesting room cleaning via WhatsApp, we returned in the evening to find that one of the suite was not serviced. The initial response from the staff was that the room had already been cleaned at 10 am, suggesting potential operational immaturity due to the hotel’s newness. Additionally, there were oversights in room service, such as occasionally forgetting to replace items like cups and towels. The dining experience was excellent, with all meals, especially dinner. Breakfast was also delightful, despite limited options. Situated in the heart of the old town, the hotel's location was perfect, within walking distance of major attractions and luxury shopping streets. In summary, the Munich hotel was impressive in most aspects, making it a top choice for travelers.

Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski München

We are here now. Reserved 2 rooms to accommodate 4 people, one for 3 adults, the other for 1 adult. They brought us a roll away bed for the 3rd adult and when I asked the front desk, they said they had no rooms to accommodate 3 adults with 3 proper beds. (Then why offer it as an option?). We were offered to move to a larger room, for the larger price, but would still only get the roll away bed for the 3rd adult. Accommodations…..incredibly dissatisfied. Especially for a 5 star hotel. We were ignored, not exaggerating, when we pulled up with our vehicle. While trying to parallel park to unload, 2 employees stood joking around. A colleague stopped what he was doing, interrupted them, and all but got in their face to tell them to help us! At this point I was pissed! And mind you, i was outside of the car and they had no idea i was with the car……so i was witness to it all. They were kissing the feet of the others (who were not wearing sweat pants) and legitimately IGNORED us. I was PISSED. Not because I’m stuck on myself, but because it’s so true. If you don’t LOOK a certain way, especially at this 5 star hotel, YOU WILL BE IGNORED. Don’t hate on me for my honest review. Just know that if TRUE luxury is what you’re seeking, no matter what you look like or what you drive, you may have better luck down the road. It’s not here. Best of luck and let’s hope I’m one of the few who has had to experience this.

Unsold's Factory Hotel

Stayed here over a week and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Staff - Probably the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I've ever come across. The were always very accommodating whenever I asked for anything. Even the cleaning staff would greet me whenever I'd see them. Room - Modern, clean rooms. Bed was comfortable, pillows and linens fluffy. Desk space perfect for using your laptop. Radiator for heating. There is no air conditioning, but it wasn't hot when I was there, so that was never an issue. There was also a small refrigerator. Bathroom - Again, modern and clean. Only a shower, no bathtub. The only complaint I would have is the toilet paper felt a little like sandpaper, but not a major issue. Location - Very quiet, seemingly most residential neighbourhood, but still walkable to the main sights in Altstadt. Marienplatz was about a 15 minute walk, Karlzplatz another 15 on top of that. The Eisbach surfing and English Gardens were just a block or two away. Also very close to the Residenz. There is also a small grocery store nearby, as well as a few restaurants (including a good Vietnamese restaurant right next door). Other - The hotel does have an underground parking garage. It is very small and quite pricey, at 25 euros per day. There is also parking around the hotel for cheaper, but it can get busy too. There is an elevator, which was helpful for taking luggage to the upper floors. Bonus - If you don't require daily housekeeping, you get a free drink.

Hotel an der Oper

Well, I didn't 'go' in October, but I tried to! I booked for one night through ***********, the hotel takes the money directly. The booking was confirmed by *********** having gone through the usual 2-factor Visa verification. The next day they emailed saying that the hotel had informed them my card was 'declined' and I needed to supply new card details. This worried me as I knew there the card was fine so I wasted an hour calling my bank - eventually I spoke to someone there who was able to tell me that the problem was that the hotel had tried to enter the details through a manual system, which does not meet the security requirements, and so the transaction could not be completed, my card was fine and had not been declined. I contacted the hotel by phone and told them this, they just said rudely that the problem was mine, and to change my card details at *********** or the booking would be cancelled. I did as asked, switching to Mastercard in the hope that the security issues would not be the same. All OK, till the following day when I was again informed that the card had been 'declined'. I contacted *********** as I was pretty cross by now, how can a hotel advertise on an on-line site if it can't process cards in the required way? The only suggestion was to try another card, but I don't have anything that's not MC or Visa, so I saw little point. The hotel then informed me my booking was cancelled. Now, I can't believe that this hotel is unable to process cards correctly, so what could the problem be? As I know my cards had ample credit, I'm left with 2 options, either they didn't like the implied ethnicity of my name, or they didn't like the price I got from *********** so didn't want to accept the booking. Either way, you can waste a great deal of time trying to book this hotel - and so I'd recommend against it. BTW, I travel frequently and have NEVER had a problem like this elsewhere.

Mercure Hotel Muenchen Altstadt

Considering this hotel is rated 3 stars its really so much better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in. You can't really go wrong with a mercure. Free WiFi, free breakfast, free minibar (with beers) and free tea and coffee. The rooms are really clean and the beds are comfy. The Toiletries are really generous and smell lovely. The only downside was my ground floor room was right on the street so there was a bit of noise but it wasn't unbearable. I'd recommend this hotel and its very centrally located too. Also has plug sockets near the bed- a no brainer that I never understand isn't default in all hotels.
Leonardo Boutique Hotel Munich

First, this hotel is not a Marriott, Hilton or Hyatt. It is a ”boutique” hotel that has great rooms, great bedding, nice finishes, and easy in / out. It is about a 8 minute walk from the city center. It is also close to a number of tech companies within 5 minutes walk. Loved this hotel and the daily service and look forward to staying again!
Ibis Hotel München City

It was absolutely pleasant short stay in February 2023. We made booking by mailing the hotel directly. The reservation person , Ravi, was very helpful during the reservation communication. The hotel has a very convenient location - few steps from Central station.-so one can move around the city with no issues The check in was very smooth, Daniel, receptionist, was very welcoming and efficient at the same time.Thank you, Daniel. The room was of right size, clean and cosy, bathroom was tiny but shiny clean with all amenities one might need during the short stay. WIFI is good, stable signal. Highlight of the stay - breakfast: so delicious options to choose from! Dear restaurant team, thank you very much for fabulous breakfasts! Good value for money paid. Definitely recommend for short stay.
Hotel Antares

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Antares in Munich on Dec 7-8 2019. The location of the hotel is not bad but not great. The hotel was clean and most of the staff was courteous. The staff was not able or willing to give any advice or assistance with anything outside of the hotel, subway, restaurants, attractions, etc... The main thing to keep in mind is the room size. We had a standard double room and it is small! They do give you the size of the room in sq meters so there is no deception; but keep in mind the furniture takes up most of that space to the point that our bed was against the wall at the head and left side of the bed. Also, they requested that you leave your room key at the desk when you left the hotel, we found that a bit strange. When we return to Munich, we will stay further from the city center at a hotel that is convenient to the subway; lower cost and more convenient.

Excellent service from concierge and reception despite Corona measures! Got an upgrade to a larger room. Unfortunately the hotel bar is still closed, but overall I was very happy with my stay.
