There are many structures in Italy that date back to 1100 and earlier. Some have been well restored and repurposed for the comfort of travellers who want to be surrounded by beauty, enriched with culture and treated like royalty. This is one of those properties. None of this could be possible without people: Helena, the architect of the project, her gracious husband and partner Eduardo and Laura, Eduardo's mother, a sommelier, great host and keeper of recipes I am trying to acquire. I registered for three days, stayed for five and left because I had other commitments. Location is ideal for the Brunello experience in Montalcino, the Pecorino cheese phenomenon of Pieza (look for the shop jammed with eager customers), the compelling hill town of Montepulciano and numerous other Tuscany villages, restaurants and lovely folks. Terrific value, very comfortable and well appointed interior design. The villa is in the beautiful hills just outside the pleasant town of Buonconvento.

I instigated this trip to Tuscany with my mom because she’s never been, and to the Rosewood specifically because I’ve always enjoyed my stays in London. And Castiglion del Bosco didn’t disappoint, in the slightest. The staff was so unbelievably kind and thoughtful… even when we had a slight issue with our beautiful room, they were so attentive and proactively upgraded us so we were comfortable and happy. Their attention to detail leaves you feeling completely taken care of. And the resort is exactly what you come for. The guest relations, housekeeping, spa, and winery staff were so lovely, my mom was on cloud 9! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

We booked a week in this facility. What to say ... was all spectacular! The beautiful, wide room (although it would need a new renovated) and above all very clean. Breakfast really good: wonderful cakes, different mornings, salty cakes, sauces and cheese with hot bread, pancakes ( sofas, which my husband loved). The small but very beautiful pool, we used it some afternoon to look for a little cold. The pool fabrics are provided by the facility. Very comfortable and available staff: we felt really cockooted (especially a couple of Campania staff boys with whom we often stopped talking, and who sometimes advised us). All really very nice, it's a pity that the holiday is over ... Compliments for this nice reality, made especially by young people, and we hope to come back soon!

Mercure Petriolo Siena Spa Resort Hotel, located in a panoramic location surrounded by the gentle hills of Tuscany and Maremma, is nestled in a pristine nature reserve in the Farma Valley. We stayed in this facility for a weekend outside with friends. We had booked two apartments, one inside the main palace and the other in one of the ”secondary” palaces. Between the apartments were clean and well maintained. The historical palace of the 500 was incredibly spacious and bright, and the terrace and the numerous windows also gave the opportunity to look at the fantastic landscape typically of Tuscan. The staff were immediately prepared and welcome despite being a young and numerous group. At the arrival, we had a formula for the aperitive that, in front of a fixed quota, gave the opportunity to drink all the sprits you wanted with stuzzichine attachments (patates, peanuts, etc.). Super satisfying also breakfast with a classic sweet and salt buffet. The best quality products that have ”driven” us to eat at the swamp. I complimente the staff, I will not miss the opportunity to advise friends and relatives for their stays

Hotel dei Capitani is situated on the edge of Montalcino (only a 5 min walk from the centre) with spectacular views of the valley below. Rooms are quite small but provide wonderful views, a comfy bed and a well equipped bathroom. A good selection of cereals, pastries, etc were provided for breakfast on the terrace overlooking miles of Brunello vineyards below. There are some excellent restaurants in Montalcino so we didn't have dinner in the restaurant.
