Reviews of Horizon at 77th

We had never been to Myrtle Beach I had HGV points to use up to avoid losing them. I invited a couple car club friends to join me for a 5 day trip to Myrtle. We got to try various events and food options in the general area. Horizon is in a quiet zone between Myrtle and North Myrtle. It is only one building back from a nice p ortion of beach. Great indoor parking options.

This is overall a nice resort in a quieter part of Myrtle Beach. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the until upon arrival. The for was so dirty that it turned the bottom of feet black within an hour. The stovetop was filthy with stuff burnt on the burners that I had to clean before I could use the cooktop. There was something gritty all over the countertop that I had to clean. Half used rolls of toilet paper and paper towels were left for our use, which I trashed. The pull out sofa was awful. It barely had any cushion left on the mattress. The beds were ok. The second bedroom was supposed to have two beds in it and it had a king size instead and I was told there were no other rooms available. I booked a room that had those two beds because of other family that was also coming. I had to pay a $120 cleaning fee with my reservation and an amenity fee and didn't get use any of those because it was too cool for the outdoor pools and the indoor pool and Jacuzzi were shut down for maintenance the while five days we were there.

The resort is clean and well equipped. The staff was friendly and attentive. The resort is close to the beach and within walking distance to many restaurants.

We stayed in a room with a partial beach view. The parking garage was low (we had a truck) and you parked near the elevator that took you to your room area. The resort is in a nice neighborhood and we took a short walk from the garage to the beach, it is a nice stretch of beach. I felt the room could have been furnished better, the layout was very cramped. The kitchen had most ammenities, however the stove dial were worn off. The bathroom fixtures were lower than normal height. They could use some updating. The washer/dryer unit was very loud. The bed was comfortable. The room temp. fluxuated because of the large windows and sliding doors. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We had a very nice time during off season. I’m sure the rooms with a better view make a difference. We had a pool view and couldn’t open our curtains bc ppl could see in our room(we were the 1st floor) pools get crowded so I can’t imagine peak season. Also you can hear a lot from other rooms. Very nice place tho. Walkable to the beach which is what we wanted. Resort fees are a little high for what you’re getting but that’s all resorts lately. Overall we had a great time and I would use this resort for off season again

We stayed here for free by using a friend’s timeshare. It was beautiful and spacious. Had 3 bdrms/2 baths. We really enjoyed watching the sun rise from our balcony each morning. Parking garage beneath made coming and going easy. A nice place to stay!

The location is very quiet and has a great view of the ocean from every room. There are restaurant and stores close by.

This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at while at Myrtle. The staff were great and rooms wonderful. The view was awesome. It was clean!!!! I’ll definitely stay here again!

Being a Bluegreen owner, I had much higher expectations for this resort. First, the room was not clean upon arrival. We were only staying for two days so we did clean ourselves. We always sanitize everything everywhere we go because we know the staffs do minimum to maintain "cleanliness" level. Most resorts through Bluegreen do for the most part meet expectations. This room was definitely not maintained. The bath tub had dirt/permanent staining in the second bath. It also had a brown streak in the master toilet. There was a person's underwear in the dryer. Some of the dishes in the cabinet looked as if they were just ran quickly through a cycle. To top it off, there were bed bugs in at least 2 of the beds. I ended up going to the store and getting a spray fogger and airing out the unit because I am sure they would have just moved us to another room that would have the chances of having the same issues. I did not mention most of the issues to the staff because I just honestly did not want them asking about an owner review or anything else for that matter. The amenities and location was the best features of this stay. We will stay in other resorts in the future. Bluegreen overall has been very great as far as the timeshare.

We enjoyed our vacation at this resort. The ocean view from out room was perfect. Perfect location. We will return to this resort.

The front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. The accommodations were were very comfortable. View of ocean was stunning. The water was turned off one day from 10AM to 3PM was inconvenient but we were advised prior to shut off. Parking spacing was wide enough that cars did get backed up from cars parked next to you.

Resort is not located right on the beach. There are 2 other resorts/hotels in between this one & the beach but it's on the same block, very short walk. Parking garage was nice but could be accessed by anyone. Resort is on the north end of Myrtle Beach so you need to drive to the boardwalk but it was quiet & felt safe. The outside pools only get sun until 11-11:30am & then they are shaded by the building, same for the unit balconies. There is a very nice outdoor common area on the 6th floor. The 1 bedroom unit is small but comfortable for 2 adults, not 4 people.

The bed was too firm, but everything else was fine. We enjoyed our stay and would be coming back in the future. After the initial water problem in the bedroom and blood stain sheet, we were taken care of. The facility is kept up and overall condo looked great.
