Stayed at MGM Hotel Velankanni and had a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were polite, and the location is very convenient—close to the Velankanni church. Food was decent and the overall atmosphere was calm and family-friendly. Good place to stay for a peaceful visit.

MGM was an amazing place in Velankanni. Every single staff was very courteous. The rooms were spotless and service amazing. I will only stay at this place whenever I visit Velankanni. Thanks to the entire team there for the great stay.

Our stay at MGM Residency at Vailankanni on 13th - 14th December was extremely comfortable. We travelled with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 yr old grandson from Hyderabad and had a wonderful time here Our special thanks go out to Mr Daniel and Mr Alwyn of MGM Resorts Daniel was extremely helpful all the way from helping us choose the right suites at the resort as well as arrange transport from Tiruchirapalli to Vailankanni and back and once at the resort Mr Alwin also stepped in and they made our stay so enjoyable that we will come back again soon. We have been coming here for the past 10-15 years and every time it’s a joy to come back to MGM as our overall experiences have always been great

I have stayed in this hotel several times and despite my bad experience during my last visit, I keep coming back here. Having stayed in many other properties in Velankanni, I still rate this property as the best available in Velankanni. It’s about 1.5kms from the shrine and is away from the hustle and bustle of the church and bus stand area. Check-in was smooth as usual. Though the property has become old, rooms are well maintained and house keeping is also good. Bathroom was neat and unlike during my last visit, there was no leakage and foul smell. Restaurant serves very nice food and I think you get the best sea food here. Ambience is good and the staff are excellent. The bar menu is limited to Indian beverages but, no high end whiskies. Room service is good. Plenty of parking is available and I got a complimentary car wash. I would rate this property as the best available in Velankanni.

My wife and I had a truly delightful stay at the MGM Vailankanni Residency from September 5th to 7th, 2025. Location and Convenience (5/5) The hotel's location, less than 2 km from the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health, was perfect. We arrived during a busy time, and the area immediately around the Basilica was heavily cordoned off by the police. Crucially, the MGM was just outside this restricted zone, allowing our taxi to drop us right at the doorstep. This proved to be a major advantage: we highly recommend staying slightly away from the shrine during peak season, as it allows for a much more peaceful night's rest. Rooms and Service (5/5) The hotel itself is beautiful, with rooms that are nice, clean, bright, and cozy. We were allocated a top-floor room, but access was easy thanks to a reliable lift. Room service was prompt and efficient. Exceptional Dining and Staff (The Highlight) The best part of our entire stay was, without a doubt, the exceptional food and the dedication of the hotel staff. We had informed the hotel in advance about my wife’s significant diet restrictions. The staff were more than willing to accommodate every single need, preparing special, custom portions of food for her. They were always attentive, checking in regularly to ensure we were enjoying the meal and that everything was satisfactory. All the food served was consistently tasty and had a wonderful, authentic, "home-prepared" feel. The morning buffet was especially enjoyable. Kindness Above and Beyond We had to depart very early on September 7th—4:00 AM to reach Trichy airport in time for our 10:00 AM flight. In an incredibly kind gesture, the kitchen staff prepared us special stuffed parathas and packaged them carefully for our journey. We gratefully enjoyed them at the airport, a perfect act of kindness to remember. Conclusion We had a truly delightful experience. We will definitely return to the MGM Vailankanni Residency every time we visit Our Lady's shrine in Velankanni, and I highly recommend them to any pilgrim traveling to this holy place. Good location on main road around 2 kms from mother mary basilca. Ample parking space. Clean rooms and baths. Rooms were pretty small and congested. Baths were clean. Hotel Saravana bhava is near the basilca for pure veg food.

A good hotel Located a bit away from the church on the main road, ample space to move around in the property, compared to the other properties near the church, good place for the elite looking to make a pilgrimage of our lady. Room comfort / breakfast / dining etc are in line with star properties. Very helpful team managing right from check-in / housekeeping / restaurant/ checkout.

Location: 1.5 km from the church/railway station, away from the bustle and good. Atmosphere: Excellent ambience, quiet serene and tranquil especially in the morning. Rooms: Modern, clean, spacious.Well maintained. Value: Definitely except the restaurant is quiet overpriced. Rooms ambience and location is spot on value for money. Service: Excellent, all the staff were courteous, polite and extending services with vigor and always ready to help with all available services. Area of improvement: Swimming pool maintenance needs to be done immediately and consistently as existing structure is crumbling.

I was pleasantly impressed with this hotel. Room was compact and clean and definitely provided value for money. Room service menu was extensive, reasonable priced and was excellent. Staff were friendly and hospitable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
