Nagasaki Kagamiya

The hotel's location was incredibly convenient, providing easy access to the tram train station to Megane Bridge, Shinchi Chinatown, and the Atomic Bomb Museum, making our sightseeing a breeze. What truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality of our hosts. Despite our late check-in, they graciously waited for us, ensuring a warm welcome. Moreover, the free bread and coffee for breakfast was a hospitable touch that added to the overall positive experience of our stay.

Excellent value for money and an authentic experience! I had a very enjoyable stay. The house is very well organized, common living room / kitchen spotless clean. Spent 2 nights there, one of which I was the only guest. Spacious room, Japanese style. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Laundry service on demand and for additional fee. Location: on the outskirts of the city, near a shinto shrine, 400m from the tram stop. As I like walking, and Nagasaki is ideal for this, I actually only took the tram upon arrival from the railway station and to go to the Atomic Bomb Museum area. I walked the rest of the time and I took a taxi the day I left.

Nagasaki Kagamiya is overall very good. It is very close to a tram station that has trams going direct to Nagasaki Station and other key attractions. However, it was a little difficult to find at first. However, once I found it, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and also spoke good English. Our private type A room, on the top level (second floor), was very nice and incredibly spacious. The tatami mats, along with the mattresses provided, were very soft and great to sleep on. There were two of us, and we still had more than enough room for bags and laying out clothes and other kit. The room also includes a table, air conditioning and a large a storage shelf. Also, our room was able to connect, with full strength, to the free WiFi. Kagamiya also featured a shared shower (on the first level). I found that the shower was very good, as it was consistent in strength and temperature. There is also a living room with computers and chairs and also a kitchen with fridge. On the top level there are two separate toilets as well as two sinks and two mirrors. Overall our two night stay was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and provided with a map and also recommendations and were able to answer questions I had. I fully recommend staying at Nagasaki Kagamiya.

It may be a bit difficult to find but the area is full of its local character and charm. The owners were helpful and went an extra mile to make us feel welcome. They spoke English and gave us good recommendations for dining anfd sighseeing options. The rooms are no frills but clean and you have anything you could possibly need. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.
