Woodside Retreat

We went in the second week of April for a family holiday and stayed for two nights here. The location is good with mountain view...to reach the property one needs to walk a few steps from the main road which might feel little tough to the elderly but we didn't have any issue and actually enjoyed the pathway. The place is hidden from the road which is again a plus point as per my opinion. Food was great...all meals almost perfect. The chef was not very forthcoming in offering different options but that's ok... whatever we were served surpassed the expectations, be it the poori aloo, poha, omlette in the morning or home style chicken during dinner, all were flawless. Staff is decent and helpful...Mr Pankaj deserves a special mention as he knows how to make the guests feel special. Mr Mahesh was also helpful but needs to brush up on his hospitality skills a bit...but no complaints. We had the pool table area to ourselves as well as the sitout in the lawn where we enjoyed basking in the afternoon sunshine. We woke up early morning the second day of our stay and did some birdwatching...spotted a few blue jays and magpies, beautiful experience! Lastly about Mr Rahul, the proud owner...he's a gem of a guy who knows his business. He went out of his way and agreed to give us a complimentary packed lunch which was over and above the already discounted rates. Wifi had a temporary issue but one message to Rahul ji and he took care immediately. Overall, we had a very memorable time at the Woodside retreat...would like to revisit someday :)

We were here to celebrate my mom in laws bday ! Seeing on Facebook, I booked it . Had apprehensions but as we reached there it was a very pleasant and a beautiful feeling ! Amidst chirping birds , cool breeze , home cooked food , fireplace , everything was perfect . Many compliments to Mr Rahul Malhotra , a very humble person and his team - Mahesh , chef Bhisht and Mohit .

This was probably one of the best stays I've had in ages. The cottage is lovely, it's bright and airy and lots of open spaces. My kids had the time of their lives. Rahul is the perfect host. He checked up with us from time to time to see if we were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. What I like most about this place is it feels like home. We travel a lot and mostly stay at homestays, but this is one place we didn't feel like leaving, guess we'll have to come back again soon. A big thank you to the cook, who made us delicious meals. Thank you for such a wonderful time and looking after us.

First and foremost, visit this property.. A. If you are pet parents, as this is truly pet friendly and enough room for babies to play and have fun. B. If you want friendly and flexible staff to take care of your needs. That's where the good part ends! The property is old and needs maintainence.. it's quite rundown and washrooms needs complete renovations. Staff needs to improve on basics of cleanliness and hygiene, starting from their own personal self and them to rooms, linen and utility areas including kitchen where they cook meals. Landscaping around property is in dire conditions and needs consistent grooming. Even if naturally kept, it's still not kept well. Wifi and power back up are definate challenges and need upgrade to a generator and power signals. It's frustrating to struggle with power and signal connection every now and then. At 4500/- a price for night, it's still not worth it . Not a repeat for a avid traveller unless improved upon. I am sharing few pics here for the owner to take positive this feedback and upgrade in such challenging environment where in hospitality has taken a leap considering consumer expectations.

It is a very beautiful and we'll maintained house. Everything is perfect there. Each food item they served is good and tasty. We all liked it. Rooms are big. Very near to Pangot market. Our family enjoyed the trip. Bedding is good for a sound sleep and location is such that, there is no sound disturbance of vehicles. Deep jungle view from windows is good enough for soul soothing. Thanks Mr. Rahul Malhotra is for our stay.

Staff is very friendly we even danced together. Food is absolutely a fab truly home food. Surroundings the rain feel the silence is if perfect amount. Staff doesn't even bother much. Only when u need them. Families who were visiting were at there own. All i can say is stay here no where else. I will be visiting again soon especially after the warm welcome by the staff.
