This is a real treasure of a place! The atmosphere is old world charm, the food is fabulous at TATU. The bar is excellent with service and attentiveness to you needs. The gift shop is stellar for some nice jewelry. The facilities are clean as a whistle as they say...breakfast was outstanding with so many choices. The work out facilities are just super great, and the pool is heated. Ok, lastly the ambiance of colonial Africa just fills the air, from the art, to the breezes flowing freely through this wonderful hotel!

This hotel is extremely unfriendly to Chinese people.
There were Europeans and Americans and us at the same time. The Europeans and Americans checked in directly. As for the Chinese, he said that we arrived early and asked us to pay an extra 110 US dollars to check in. Now the rooms are very empty and the occupancy rate is very low. It’s not that there are no rooms, but some rooms are not allowed to be checked in. I chose to resolutely not pay extra money, so we had to wait for three hours before checking in. We were given a very bad room, right next to the central air-conditioning main machine room, and it was noisy all night and I couldn’t sleep.
The next day, we had to check out. Our reservation page clearly stated that we could check out from 10 am to 12 pm. But after 9 am, people kept urging us to leave. We went downstairs to check out at 11:20, and the front desk said that we had to pay extra money for overtime. At the same time, Europeans and Americans checked out, and they checked out smoothly and left directly. So this hotel discriminates against Chinese people.

My wife and I stayed here while in Kenya for our honeymoon and they treated us like royalty. They gave us a dessert and a song while eating dinner and decorated our room with roses as a surprise. The breakfast is absolutely wonderful. The staff are extremely accommodating. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We did the couples massage and anti aging facial - pure bliss.

My husband and I flew directly here from San Francisco to kickoff our honeymoon. We loved our three night stay here and highly recommend this luxurious stay before kicking off safari. We loved the breakfast buffet every morning which was out of control good and spent a few hours by the pool every day. Really great stay and hospitality!

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights here and were quite impressed. It’s a beautiful, old hotel with beautiful grounds. I used Accor upgrades to get a suite. It turned out to be a very good use of upgrades. We were in the Karen Blixen Suite which was huge and nicely appointed with fresh flower arrangements. The suite was largely a combination of two regular rooms. The bedroom and large living room each had entry doors and small porches. There was a huge bathroom next to the bedroom, though, while the living room had a half-bath. WiFi wasn’t good. There were times when I had to sign in every 2-3 minutes. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning. Turndown service was pretty perfunctory. They also skipped us one night. Service was generally good but sometimes you felt like you were being hustled for tips. E.g. I was confirming directions for a restaurant that was 3 blocks from the hotel and they pushed to have one of their staff walk us there so we didn’t get lost. (Note that the neighborhood is very safe so this wasn’t a security issue.) Breakfast was included in our room rate. The cold items were very good while the hot items were pretty average. We ate there twice. One day everything was offered via buffet. The other day there was a buffet of cold items and hot items were ordered a la carte. I think the latter approach was because the hotel’s occupancy rate was lower. We ate dinner at the Cin Cin bar. It offers indoor and outdoor seating. Food and drinks were both good. The front desk was generally very helpful. I dealt with a woman named Kanja a few times at the front desk and she was very helpful and professional. One nice feature of the hotel is that they will exchange up to $100 of certain currencies (e.g. USD, Euros, UK Pounds) per day to Kenyan schillings. I’m guessing that this is the best hotel in Nairobi. We would definitely stay here again.

The management team is good. The receptionist is very good and welcoming. The room is very clean and beautiful. The security is good. The food is delicious and fresh. The staff are very friendly. To mention but a few are: Christine, Rebecca and Simeon. I love the hotel.

We attended for high tea in December 2024. The aesthetic is lovely. Michael, our server was excellent. The tea was delightful. But the remainder of the service was spoiled by supervisor, Leah Ouma. We made reservations in advance and Leah advised us the tea service with light bites would be prepared within 30 minutes of seating. Instead, it took nearly an hour for the light bites to be prepared and our tea ran cold. We asked Leah how she could make up the delay to us. She refused to identify a solution and was generally unpleasant.
