Staying at Elsamere Lodge felt like Paradise. Our cottage had a beautiful view of the lake. The cottage was super clean, spacious and very comfortable. I was so very touched by a birthday surprise in my room and a birthday cake at dinner (which I shared with the other guests). I loved waking up to the sounds of the birds and the Fish Eagle. One night, three hippos were grazing outside our room. Plus, a giraffe and a zebra!! The grounds are beautiful with gardens and trails with warthogs, dik dik and Colobus monkeys - it’s a peaceful wildlife retreat! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was great with nice variety. It was amazing to experience the legacy of Joy and George Adamson. The museum and documentary are great. I loved eating in Joy’s dining room being surrounded by her wonderful artwork. I especially love that the profit from my stay goes towards continuing their efforts in conservation in East Africa.

I enjoyed visiting Elsamere especially as a travel agent Merlin Travel www.merlinsafaris.com location the rooms , the museum was fantastic. The views are excellent. Just two things i would concentrate here given the chance to arise them would be the food needs a little a attention better variety and quality but still not too bad.And the gardens need a bit of work cause its such a pretty place they need some work done on the lawns .Top soil , etc make it nice and green .

I spent one night at Elsamere after my Masai Mara safari and it was a wonderful experience where I felt truly pampered. The natural setting is stunning, and waking up to the view from the huge windows overlooking Lake Naivasha was simply fabulous. The hospitality was excellent, featuring a reliable Wi-Fi connection and delicious meals with a wide variety of choices. I particularly enjoyed the guided tour of the park and the opportunity to watch the film about Elsa the lioness and the Adamsons. Having been a fan of the story since I was a child, it was deeply moving to connect with the history of the place in such an intimate way. The security is also noteworthy: the guards even helped me spot small hippos wandering through the grounds at night in complete safety. Highly recommended for those seeking a blend of comfort, history, and nature.

My wife's second visit to Elsamere and she comments: "Such a stunning, unique oasis where you can relax and unwind. The rooms are airy and comfortable, the gardens are beautifully kept and the view of the lake is stunning. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. A lovely opportunity to see colobus monkeys so close and warthogs, although sadly one had a badly injured leg but he managed perfectly on the other three! We saw a baby hippo come out to graze in the evening and we woke up in the morning to see zebras grazing metres from our room. The museum and video relate the interesting story of Joy Adamson and the land rover belonging to George is also there. Elsamere is charming with the personal touch of a small establishment and the bonus that visitors are supporting Born Free. Highly recommended and so much better than staying in the usual lodges."

It truly is an incredible place and we very much enjoyed our stay. The location just couldn't be anymore tranquil and serene. The history is awesome and I really like knowing my money goes towards conservation. There are areas that need some TLC and improvements in the near future (washrooms aren't the nicest, beds weren't very comfortable...) but, overall, I would come back.

First and foremost, we enjoyed our stay. The location is Great and so is the Ambience. You wake up to lots of birds calling including the famous African Fish Eagles. The Gardens are beautiful and often visited by Colobus Monkeys, Warthogs, Dik-diks to name a few. Great viewing deck too. The rooms were clean but very basic and need some upgrading. The place is well kempt but can do better. The staffs are a plus point here, very welcoming and hospitable. Food was ok, and a lot can be improved. I strongly believe much can be improved overall if they envision what the original residents (Adamsons) were looking for when they lived here. They need to bring some old rustics look back instead of modernizing the place. Don't take it wrong as it's definitely a place we enjoyed and will visit again.

I booked at Elsamere on the recommendation of a friend with the intention of a 2-day solo retreat but ended up staying 5 days because I loved it so much. I'm familiar with Joy & George Adamson's story, having watched Born Free a few times in the '80s and '90s, but it was really special to experience what used to be their home (as well as Elsa's). The property is really beautiful and unlike many of the properties in Naivasha, is right on the lake. So you have stunning panoramic views of the lake from your room or from any of the common areas. I loved that it never felt crowded even though the lodge filled up on the last night I was there - likely because the lodge accommodates 20 guests max if I'm not mistaken. The service was really great! The staff were all incredibly warm, friendly, professional and accommodating. Big shout-out to Rachel who really went out of her way and made me feel right at home. The lodge manager, David was always super attentive and present. There was always a fresh pot of decent filter coffee when I needed it - not always a given at the lodges, but so appreciated here. There was always a pitcher of drinking water at the tables during mealtimes, but I loved the fresh watermelon juice I ordered daily. The food was pretty good - very fresh and very wholesome. My daytime dining experience was definitely enhanced by all the wildlife that kept me company. It was such a treat to be able to watch the variety of birdlife, Colobus monkeys and warthogs that were always around while I enjoyed my meals. I stayed in a Superior room which looked like it may have been recently spruced up. The bed and bedding was so warm, cozy and comfortable, and the shower had decent water pressure and hot water. My only recommendation here to the management would be to consider using warm white light bulbs instead of daylight bulbs in the rooms to create better ambiance in the rooms at night. I spent a fair bit of time on the front porch of my room because the animals (especially the warthog families) would come right up to it and I had a beautiful view of the lake. Almost every night, there were hippos, zebras and giraffes outside my room. Other points to note: * Generally accessible for anyone in a wheelchair or walking aide. * Great WiFi connection everywhere on the property * Lodge entrance is on the main Moi South Lake rd (very accessible via saloon car) Many thanks to the awesome Elsamere team for your wonderful hospitality - David, Peninah, Rachel, et al. I'll definitely be back!

We spent three nights at this lodge and enjoyed it thoroughly. A buffet meal was served for breakfast lunch and dinner. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. There were comfortable spaces to relax, read a book, or enjoy an evening cocktail. Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are cleaned exceptionally. We were able to view giraffe, zebra, warthog, buffalo, and baboon quite close. The security guard even brought us out to see a mom and baby hippo at night. Although I would highly recommend this place, you should know that the bathrooms could use an update, so plan accordingly.
