We found this B&B just by looking on the map for a location to stay in Namur, away from the downtown, but close enough to walk. We couldn’t have been any happier we chose Villa Balat! Muriel is a charming, helpful, attentive host. Her villa is comfortable, her breakfasts amazing, but best of all she really cares about the comfort of her guests. If you find yourself in this part of Belgium, Namur is a lovely city with a surprising number of Michelin rated restaurants, and Villa Balat is the place to stay. Thank you Muriel!

Located near the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers, and practically opposite the citadel, Villa Balat surprises with its charm. Inside, a very original decor and rooms await you – the Rops room, with its small balcony almost touching the footbridge, its Belle Époque-style bathtub, and its very comfortable king-size bed, particularly pleased us. Breakfast is served plated in a very pretty setting and in a dining room decor reminiscent of another era. Most importantly, in the absence of the hostess Murielle, we received a charming welcome from Shkurte. Not only charming but also very attentive, for example, she helped us carry our luggage, drove us to and from the garage, and was always very responsive.

Opposite the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers lies Villa Balat, a stately building on the Meuse River, right next to the pedestrian bridge that takes you directly to the center of Namur. Balat was the architect responsible for the construction of the Royal Greenhouses in Laeken (Royal Palace). The B&B has several rooms. Two years ago, we stayed here in the Balat room, or rather, the suite. It's a large room with a large (excellent) bed and a separate bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub and a walk-in shower. This room opens onto a private terrace on the first floor, complete with a conservatory—ideal in inclement weather—and a fantastic view of the Meuse River, with the Walloon Parliament on the other side and the citadel above. The charming hostess will share tips about her city, the surrounding area, and the house. The house is a museum in itself, with books, art, figurines, and beautiful furniture. The breakfast is also fantastic: fresh rolls, cheese, charcuterie, homemade fruit juice, jam, coffee, and eggs (the chickens graze in the garden). In short, highly recommended for anyone who wants to spend a few days in a different world.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin und Mitarbeiterinnen. Schönes Frühstück - man bestellt am Vortag, was man haben möchte auf einem Zettel. Ideale Lage direkt am Fluss. Über eine Fußgängerbrücke gelangt man in die Altstadt. Moderne Dusche. Wir hatten das Zimmer „Anna Boch“. Dazu muss man wissen, das nur ein Vorhang das Zimmer und Bad vom Treppenhaus trennt. Das war für uns kein Problem. Es gibt auch einen Garten. Das Auto kann in einer Garage eines Mehrfamilienhauses um die Ecke gegen Gebühr geparkt werden. Achtung bei der Anfahrt. Das Navi leitete uns direkt auf die Uferpromenade für Fußgänger, wo auch der Zugang zum Haus ist. Besser die Rue Mazy anfahren und in Höhe der Eisdiele zu Fuß zum Fluss laufen und sich dort anmelden.

Durante il nostro soggiorno a Namur abbiamo scelto di alloggiare presso il b&b La Villa Balat perché ci sembrava semplicemente meraviglioso (come effettivamente si è dimostrato) e perché si trova in posizione strategica alla fine dell’enjambée, la passerella pedonale che consente di arrivare in centro in un attimo. Il b&b dispone di tre camere da cui si godono viste spettacolari del Parlamento Vallone e della Cittadella. In particolare, la camera Balat dispone di una terrazza privata con giardino d’inverno. Deliziosa la colazione composta da prodotti del territorio.Su richiesta è disponibile un garage privato.

Magnifique villa idéalement située à la confluence de la Meuse et de la sambre. Il n'y a que 3 chambres, mais quelles chambres ! Tout est d'époque et soigné dans les moindres détails. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux, l'hôtesse charmante et amicale. Ça c'est de l'accueil ! Accès libre à la bibliothèque où on peut se servir de bières locales et les déguster dans le jardin qui est un autre petit bijou. A recommander absolument pour les amateurs de beau, de plongeon dans le temps et de détente .
