The best hotel I have stayed in my trip to China this December. The rooms are big and spacious and clean. I had the double guest room and it came with a television and a projector TV. We could watch our shows separately in the room as they have cleverly positioned the speakers for the projection behind the bind. There is a big platform near the window, presumably to be in the same mood as the theatre theme. This is perfect for us for our 4 luggage. There are fresh fruits served daily in the room, and amenities are replenished daily. The breakfast has a good variety of selection. There is a laundry room with 2 washers and dryer. The hotel staff are all polite and helpful, even gave my kids free breakfast during our stay. If I have to nickpick at something, it would be that there is around 5 stairs to the lobby of the hotel and not so luggage friendly.

A very good travel experience. The location of Zhuangyuan Building is very good, right next to the Confucius Temple archway. The front desk, concierge and housekeeping staff were all friendly and courteous. The front desk helped us upgrade to a premium room with a view. The hotel was nicely located in Nanjing‘s old town area. From the hotel you could take nice walks into the old city with its beautiful streets (especially during night with nice lanterns). The staff was friendly and tried to help us out during our stay. The rooms are decorated in old style and the facilities are in okay conditions. Some areas or parts of facilities may need some renewals. Unfortunately, the hotel was very empty when we have been there. The breakfast was limited during our visit and going to the pool required upfront reservation (same as for the breakfast) which limited the service quality somewhat. It was nice on the other hand that the hotel provided us daily a small box of fresh fruits and a small snack. We hope the service can improve when the visitors return. The garden could be visited but some pathways have been closed for renovation. Overall, we can recommend the hotel when it will be more busy again.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Its staff were amazing, they were friendly, efficient and went extra miles in providing the best service. They were accommodating and always met our requests and expectations. Otherwise, the hotel has very high standards in its room and other facilities. Its proximity to shops and restaurants and indeed all other conveniences such as banks and metro made it a true top choice in any sense. It is worth noting that it went to great lengths in conyacting us for an item left behind after we checked out. also worthy of note is Miss Fanny who is truly caring and made us feel warmly welcomed from day one. This trip was really great. I called in advance to ask about the arrival time, and sent the location of the hotel and parking lot. The lobby manager Xiaohua was very considerate and took us back to the room to introduce the hotel culture and the hotel’s Hanfu cruise experience. . Due to the problem with housing prices, we also found relevant departments to coordinate and gave us small gifts. If you have takeout during your stay, you can ask him to help deliver it. SSAW was a great choice for us while we were in Nanjing for a wedding. Coming from Shanghai we were a bit sick of crowds and were worried that this place would be noisy given that it's in the middle of the tourist section. Instead, it was like an oasis of calm. The setup is that of an ancient manor house and has multiple small pools and gardens throughout the hotel. The study has tea and calligraphy available to you. In the morning you are woken to she sounds of flutes from what I think was a neighborhood group. The best part is definitely the service. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming to the point where we almost felt like it was too much. They provide drinks, snacks, and other small goods free of charge and will add you on wechat so that you can easily communicate with them. Overall highly recommend!
