Nanning Hotel Guide

Nanning is divided into seven districts and five counties, among which Xingning District is the center. As far as scenic spots are concerned, the most famous attractions in Nanning are located in Qingxiu District, such as Qingxiu Mountain and Nanhu Park. Yiling Rock, Lingshui, and Damingshan Scenic Area are located in Wuming District in the north of the city. Because there are five counties in Nanning, though the attractions on the outskirts of the city are relatively scattered. Longhushan Nature Reserve is located in Longan County in the northwest of the city.

Nanning is home to many green landscapes, and the ones most worthy of viewing is the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area and Liangfengjiang National Forest Park. In addition, there are many parks in Nanning that are open to tourists free of charge, such as Nanhu Park and Nanning People's Park.

More than 30 ethnic groups such as the Zhuang, Han, Miao, Yao, Yi, and Maonan call Nanning their home with the Zhuang people accounting for 64% of the city’s population. In the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museums, National Cultural Relics Courts and Guangxi Ethnic Museum, visitors can get a deeper understanding of Nanning's history and ethnic culture.

Nanning is located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer. It is a humid subtropical monsoon climate. The superior climatic conditions make Nanning a shaded tree all year round and is suitable for sightseeing at any time. In late October and early November, there are many activities. In late October and early November each year, Nanning hosts an annual international folk song festival and other large-scale tourism activities, creating a lively atmosphere that attracts tourists. In the winter during the months from December to February, visitors can head to Daming Temple, which usually the only place to see snow in Nanning. From February to March the spring flowers bloom, and parks such as Golden Camellia Park and Hualien World are great locations for those who like to take pictures. Nanning is hot and humid in summer, especially in the months of July and August. The average maximum temperature reaches 30-38°C and rainfall levels are high. If you travel to Nanning during these times, remember to bring along sun gear, such as hats and sunglasses, as well as an umbrella.

Nanning is a medium sized city and a good place for a stopover after traveling in other parts of Guangxi or Vietnam. As a provincial capital, there are many hotels in Nanning which range from luxury to budget, assuring there’s a hotel for every type of traveler. Most tourists choose to stay near the train station (in the Chaoyang business area) or the International Exhibition Center.
