Best Hotels in Naoshima

My husband and I chose the Uno Hotel because we wanted easy access to the art islands in the Seto Inland Sea. Hotel is a 3 or 4 minute easy walk to Uno Port which is the gateway to those islands. And ferry ride only about 15 minutes one-way. We expected the art islands to be great but this is a new hotel so we took a chance. Wow, what a wonderful experience on every level; the room, hotel team, restaurant, and the food was exceptional. The Uno Hotel is also within a 1 minute walk to a building which houses Onsen (hot springs baths and spa) and a Japanese restaurant, which they also own. (We did not have time to explore those but heard great things.) I could rave about the restaurant in the hotel called “Bluno” for days….we enjoyed breakfasts and dinners there - each superb with great attention-to-detail. A special treat was meeting restaurant manager Mr. Aran Teruo Pascual. He was kind, professional and personally makes one want to return in addition to the food and contemporary bright setting. The front desk team is warm, welcoming and attentive. When making a reservation I noticed there are multiple hotels or inns that have the name “Uno” in it so my suggestion is that you note that it is the Uno Hotel. I recommend higher floor on the water side, the hotel is not on the water, but lovely view. We look forward to returning.

The breakfast was delicious, and it included some delicious local flavors like Yuzu and other citrus flavors. The onsen and sauna were nice, but there is no cold water bath in the women’s area. The room was very clean, and looked like new. The door between the bed and bathroom blocks any noise from the hallway. It was comfortable and easy to relax and sleep easily there.

Booked this double room for my parents. Very clean and spcious room with private toilet and tub. Conveniently located at a shopping street with a supermarket right next to the hotel. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

JR Clement Hotel Takamatsu is conveniently located next to major transportation hub including subway station, bus station and ferry terminals to other scenery islands. It has many restaurants nearby. The rooms are very spacious. Staff are very helpful, patient and attentive to details. Pricing is very reasonable.

I used the room of the new building. It is less than 々 away from Takamatsu station, and the bus seems to be not after the evening, so I went to the taxi. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very delicious. I was a little worried about the front desk from a little above, but I was very satisfied overall. I would like to use it at the new building next time I visit Takamatsu.

The scenery on the upper floors of the hotel is very good. There are free beverage machines and ice machines on the first floor, where you can make Coke, Calpis, milk tea, coffee and other drinks. The room is not big but very clean. The bathroom is a three-way bathroom with wet and dry separation. Overall it is very good. Geographically speaking, it is relatively close to Kawaramachi Station. It is a little further from JR Takamatsu Station but still within walking distance. Check-out time is 11:00, and the Wi-Fi name and password are at the front desk on the first floor. I also recommend everyone to go to Ritsurin Park, which is not far from the hotel and is really beautiful.
