International Garibaldi

It was a nightmare in Naples, it really was. Firstly, the hotel - if you can call it that, it's debatable - has virtually zero signage other than a small plaque on the outside wall. Secondly, the accommodation is located on the 4th floor of the building and is reached by the smallest lifts I've ever had the misfortune to get in....initially it wouldn't work so I made my way up the stairs. Later on it refused to open on the ground floor. However, worse was to come. Having checked in in the afternoon and having paid for the 'privilege,' I returned to the hotel in the early hours...only to find myself locked out. The keys I had been given didn't work and neither did the desperate calls to the out-of-hours phone number. Eventually I was forced to seek alternative accommodation in the centre of Naples and thankfully struck lucky at the fifth time of asking. Obviously this shouldn't have happened and it was only when I returned to the hotel to pick up my bag the following morning, I found out that I should have been given a door code to gain entry! On the plus side, the hotel is a short walk from the main station so you're guaranteed a swift getaway....

Our first night the air conditioning was not working so we reported first thing next morning…they did not care because it was never repair. We have 4 nights of extreme heat in the room, we opened the window every night to get some comfort. Called the several time the host…never answer the phone or call back. It was impossible to communicate with the only staff that we saw…we tried in English, Spanish, and using an app to translate…we later understood that she/they knew about the problem but did not care… I would not recommend this hotel… also we never got any room service and the breakfast was terrible...
