Don’t waste your money with this hotel. Booked a room for the last night we were in Nassau. When we arrived at the property we were denied access by staff due to a nearby fire. I told the staff member we had a room booked and he said no one was being allowed on the property. We then booked a room at another hotel and called the hotel to request a refund. An incredibly rude woman from the hotel denied the refund and then lied about staff keeping us from coming onto the property. Spend your money elsewhere. These people are thieves.

My husband and I dined at Graycliff last night. The building and decor are stunning. The gentleman host was very stern (a bit like a scary librarian). The rest of the staff was charming and lovely. I ordered the “ bits of lobster tail with cream sauce” as an appetizer and was very disappointed that the lobster was so chewy and tough that I literally could not even cut it with my knife. The flavors were good though. Then my snapper came. Cooked in plastic, honestly I thought it said parchment. I would never eat anything that had been heated up or cooked in plastic! Again the fish was so overcooked, dry and chewy. Also cooked in peppers and onions which it did not say on the menu and had I known I would have ordered some else. It was a massive disappointment. I was also told I should tour the wine cellar but they acted annoyed when I asked about seeing it. To be fair, they were very busy.

Be wary of this hotel. We decided to stay here as I was fascinated by its history, and we didn't want to stay in one of the resorts - however what was once likely a lovely old property has fallen in to neglect. There are some definite highlights from our stay - Dimitri at the front was wonderful, helpful, incredibly kind & friendly. The tour of the wine cellar was interesting; and the large pool was gorgeous although the other pool was dirty & the gardens around the area were unkempt and overgrown. There was never any staff at the pool, and the dressing rooms were dirty. The "luxury" room we were in was very spacious, but in desperate need of a deep clean and modernisation, the soft furnishings were fading and had not been updated in quite some time, the room smelled musty and my husband sneezed every time he walked in. The "jacuzzi" bath was a deathtrap, a gorgeous marble top around it made it impossible to get in / out of without straddling it & hoping not to slip. There was grouting missing, & the plug was impossible to put in the bath as it had so much limescale; same with the shower head - this was all in need of modernisation. There was the renmants of a wasp nest on the shutter, which I tried to open so we could get some fresh air. The towels were thin & small. We had to walk through the parking lot to get to our room as the gardens were closed and there was construction, which felt weird and disconnected from any charm of the main house. Breakfast was awful, consisting of a hard as rock croissant and other pastries - despite the misleading "breakfast included", it wasn't really accurate however the gentleman serving us was lovely and although they didn't know what a flat white was, they made a very good one! We didn't bother having breakfast the other days we were there. We arrived the night of the Junkanoo, and as we came home at 1:30am, there was a very drunken woman having a very loud conversation with her friend in the courtyard; I also had to go outside to ask the gentleman getting ready on the patio to stop yelling to his friends, there was also another guest who loudly spoke to his phone in the dining room at breakfast, at the pool and in the bar when he was having a drink. There was one lady who checked us in who was friendly, but overall the reception desk team were not particularly helpful or friendly. I appreciate that it's an older property, however some love and upkeep would go a very long way to restoring some of the elegance. Overall not what you'd expect for $500+ night.

Loved the staff. Old hotel with the best charm. Management was very accommodating and kind. Staff very hardworking and pleasant. Would always come back, but some parts of the hotel could use a tiny bit of freshening up. A must see!

We stayed four nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is gorgeous and storied, the staff are unparalleled in their kindness and service; the gem inside the hotel is the restaurant and the sitting room where we enjoyed a signature champagne cocktail and listened to the fantastic house band. A truly fantastic experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend.

We returned again this year for our second visit and we just love it! We can’t wait to return next year! Small, elegant, sophisticated and understated. With an absolutely wonderful staff that provides such personal service. It is quiet and peaceful, but only a few steps away from the Straw Market and the downtown. It’s a great place to come back to relax, and the pool is just stunning.

THE place to be in Nassau, an absolute highlight! A beautiful museum to live in with great people, beautiful surroundings, a fantastic restaurant and one of the most spectacular wine cellars in the WORLD (I‘m not joking, I‘ve seen some of them). Not to forget, an evening at the cigar lounge with Pam at the piano is entertainment at it‘s best. We enjoyed every moment and felt at home from checking in till checking out. Highly recommended!

The Graycliff is a stunning property and we had the most amazing stay. Once you enter the Graycliff it is like stepping back in time where the ambience and excellence is at the forefront of your visit. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The dining experience is something not to be missed and there is a pianist every night to add to the atmosphere and mystique of the Graycliff experience. Our stay truly was amazing and the history of the place adds to the uniqueness. To also stay at the same location as royalty and countless celebrities is the icing on the cake………. Graycliff - Don’t ever change!! Thank you for a wonderful stay
